 Big Dan’s Fishing Charters offers the best salt water

Fishing Trips
HALIBUT/SALMON COMBO TRIPS

HALIBUT/SALMON COMBO TRIPS are great year around. We

split the day between trolling for salmon and jig ing for halibut.
This full day charter takes you out to our choice fishing
locations. We will travel between 30-45 miles out of Homer.
Captains Dan and Jesse will use their expert skills to put you on
some nice size fish. If you have never fished ocean waters before,
no worries, both captains are great with teaching you how to
fish properly for these species. Yes, there is a technique to
fishing for halibut and salmon. If you take their advice your
chances of catching them increases. During May and June the
king salmon are making their way to the rivers and the feeder
kings are there year round. July through September, the silver
salmon show up and pink salmon will make a showing on even
years. These trips can be made on both the Blackjack and the
Game Changer.
 MULTI-SPECIES FISHING TRIPS

MULTI-SPECIES FISHING TRIPS target either halibut/salmon/rockfish OR

lingcod/halibut/salmon/rockfish.
Travel farther out into the Gulf of Alaska where the colder/deeper waters
have some of the most amazing and prehistoric looking rock fish. The
record Lingcod caught is 86 pounds! Limits based on current regulations
made by ADFG. Weather will play a big part of how far we can travel out.
Lingcod are generally fished for using a jig ing technique. They are
generally found in rock formations a great distance away from Homer. In
those same areas are where larger halibut and rockfish are also found. You
can expect a few hours travel time on the boat before we reach the fishing
grounds. Along the way you can enjoy the ride and soak in the sights that
Kachemak bay provides. The farther out we go into the Gulf of Alaska, the
more likely we are to come across wildlife that is not seen in the bay.
 OVERNIGHT MULTI-SPECIES FISHING TRIPS

OVERNIGHT MULTI-SPECIES FISHING TRIPS are spent

traveling farther into the Gulf of Alaska. These overnight trips
are perfect for those anglers who want to get their yearly limit of
fish, but only having to go out one time. You can book a trip on
your own or book the entire boat. We offer private boat rates.
Being able to pick your group is a bonus, and also a great way to
have a special trip with ONLY your family and friends. These
trips start later in the day and return the following day. We offer
: 1 light lunch, 1 home cooked dinner, and a hearty breakfast.
Snacks will also be available as well as water. Please inform Big
Dan’s Fishing Charters of any food allergies. Shower and
bathroom on board. There are sleeping quarters for everyone.
