I am a product of the public school system of the government of the Republic of
the Philippines where I graduated valedictorian in elementary and secondary at San
Roque Elementary School and Partido State University-Laboratory High School respectively. In 2014, I finished and earned my degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Partido State University, Goa, Camarines Sur wherein I was awarded a Gold Medallion for Academic Excellence for being a Cum Laude. As a student, I became an active student leader wherein I received various leadership and service awards. I also received nominations from different award giving bodies such as the Ten Outstanding Movers of the Philippines 2013, Makabagong Rizal ng Bayan 2013 and Ten Outstanding Students of Bicol 2013. I had also attended different national and regional seminars and trainings and involved myself in different community- related activities. And just recently, I attended the Global Youth Forum 2017 held at Subic Bay Freeport Zone. After graduating college, I worked as a Business Process New Associate in one of the bests Business Process Outsourcing Company in the Philippines, the Accenture, Inc. at Mandaluyong City. I also gained practical work experience in JBJS Accounting and Bookkeeping Services at Goa Camarines Sur as a Practicum. And presently, I’m currently working at Partido State University, Goa, Camarines Sur as Instructor 1 wherein I’m teaching accounting subjects and other business related courses and performing other functions such as in research, extension and production services. I am also designated as College Student Affairs Coordinator and College Student Council Adviser. My outstanding academic performance and work experience make me a strong candidate for the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths Program 2016 (JENESYS 2016 Economics) Batch 8. I was very excited to read the ad at the National Youth Commission website since I have had a long-time interest in joining the said program and it sound particularly appealing to me. I think being part of the Program will help not just me but also my students and community as well. I want to grow as an individual and be exposed in different cultures especially in doing business and to know more about its people. As a business minded individual, I want to create my own business in the future. I want to use this opportunity to look for the best business practices and processes that will help me in managing my own business. I also want to create networks with others and establish harmonious alliance, forming a closely-knit, amicable bond to each other. And as an educator, I want to gain first hand experiences that I can share to my students and to the people of my community. I want to develop my competencies that will meet the challenges of regional economic integration and promoting sustainable communities.Through this program, I will have better understanding about the difference between the culture of Japan and the Philippines especially to the Bicol Region. It will be an avenue for me to conduct relevant research that impacts the region and the world. DAVID CON M. RIVERO
