Ruby Bridges

This movie illustrates one strong success that contribute to the fight against
rights and try to defeat all the segregation, discrimination, racism and try to
develop the equality. Ruby bridges talk us about the mission that a small girl
of 6 years old had to complete by being brave and having perseverance,
emotionality and physically.

She overcome every challenge on her path by keeping her faith on the love
and support of her family and Lord Jesus our savior. She lets herself be guided
by a teacher that believes in her and the dream of the equal rights that
someday will belong to everyone.

Ruby was able to share her experience with a psychiatrist that helps her to be
free, to open herself and her feelings that bother her in the whole movie.
This film is the prove of a woman that was part of the change in one of the
biggest problems in the 20 century, she achieve all her goals with simply faith,
trust and love.

Elements of the Plot


 Exposition:
o 1960 New Orleans Louisiana, characters: Ruby, Abon and Lucielle
Bridges, Barbara Henry (teacher), Robert Coles and his wife
psychiatrist. Boyard and his wife, Alma (Superintendence), Mrs.
Spencer (Principal), Woodmere (Supervisor Teacher). Goal
Integrate Afro Descendants kids in white school, mix them all to
bring equal rights.
 Rising action:
o ruby got selected to participate in a program to study in the
William Frantz Public School. Parents were mad and didin’t agree
with this project so they make many protests and took our their
kids of the classrooms. Abon Got Fired
 Climax:
o Mrs. Barbara Achieves the objects about making other kids share
with ruby in the same class
o Ruby prayed for the crowd in the stairs of the school
o Ruby got high scores on her test and Mrs. Woodmere didn’t agree
with the results and she also said that ruby was helped by
received special attention.
 Falling Action:
o Kids accept ruby at school
o Teachers support Mrs. Woodmere
o Neighbors share again with Bridges Family and allow them to be
where they used to.
 Resolution:
o Ruby Became the first Afro-Descendant girl to study in a white
school.
