“It’s not about you. It’s about Jesus in you!

2 Corinthians 4

In today’s scripture, Paul was writing in response to some “super-Apostles,” people who were teaching the
gospel, yet twisting it to promote materialism, they are the very first prosperity preachers.

why is this a problem? Because the Corinthian church be become more focused on what they look like rather
than what they act like. They become more focused on their situations, and comfort rather than what God is
doing and working in their lives.

Si Paul talked about his own sufferings mura ba ug iyang ginaingon ako pud gani naglisod man pud ...ug gani
he suggested that, through our weakness, through our frailty, God can shine through even brighter. Ang
kawalad-on ang kalisod is no punishment from God but an opportunity for God to display his power in our lives.
Paul says, “It’s not about you; it is about Jesus in you.” First principle i want to share tonight is...

1. You have the light of Christ in you (v. 6)

6 ForGod, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our
hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

Paul contrasted true believers with those false teachers who drew attention to themselves. They wanted to be
in the spotlight. They portray that they are servants of God but they love to be served by people, to be highly
recognized. They preach that suffering is a curse from God. Ug hangtod karon naay mga gawali ug ingon ana,
gamiton nila ang mga passages sa bible to support their teachings.

Naay mga tao muingon nga kanang religion is a business… siguro mao na ang iyang nakita but it is not
applicable to all churches… mao bitaw nga kinahanglan mag amping gyud kanunay nga dili ta mupadulong
Pero ug kristohanon ka you are not of the world
and

Paul says, “It’s not about you. It’s about Jesus in you!”

Sometimes in the ministry we feel the pressure to perform.
higayon nga uncounciously We want to be bigger, better, faster, smarter, we want to shine our own light. if
people around us are discontented with us we also feel that God is also not contented with us. That’s why We
want to shine brighter, kay kulang pa, ug usahay mao pud ang atong rason ngano dili pud ta mu commit in the
tibuok balay, o gitabunan.
Yet, Paul reminds us that Christ’s light shines in our hearts the moment we surrender to his lordship.

As Craig Groeschel said, “God did not call us to blend in, but to stand out. Let your light shine.” You
don’t have to try harder. You just need to trust God. Trust that God will use you

God doesn’t want you to shine harder, God’s light is already shining in you, just make yourself available for his
purposes. Just like the moon it just reflect the light that comes from the sun... To reflect God's light is a
choice...

Muingon ta paunsa ug dili nako mahimo? Mao ra ni akong kapasidad,” rememb er “It’s not about you. It’s
about Jesus in you!”

Philippians 2:13 says, “It is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” You
don’t have to be in the spotlight, because you already have the light of Christ in you. You just have to be
available for his plan and purpose.

2. Christ will use your life to be a blessing to others (vv. 11-12)

11 Yes,we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of
Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. 12 So we live in the face of death, but this has
resulted in eternal life for you.

Ingon pa nila The moment we are born, our bodies begin to die.Tungod kini sa gitawag nga aging
process sets in, just as it did for our first parents, Adam and Eve, the moment they sinned. Death and dying is
part of our sinful world.

Yet, the good news is, the weaker we become, the more glory God gets. Paul says, Our bodies are like jars of
clay, Yet, like a lot of storage containers, they are fragile. Even though something important may be stored in
the pot or jar, the container itself is not that important.

container.

What is important is what is inside the jar, it could be water, oil. Perfume, jewelries, it is a container, vessel.
You and me are jars of clay.
It is not about me,

Even as Paul knew his days were numbered, he did not despair. He knew that any suffering or death for him
meant life for others, as they embraced the gospel through his witness. Verse 12: “Death is at work in us, but
life is at work in you.”

Conclusion: One of Abraham Lincoln's most outspoken political enemies was a man named Edwin
J. Stanton.
clown” and the “original gorilla”. He even said this, “It is ridiculous for people to go to Africa to
see a gorilla, when they could find one here easily .”
To Lincoln's credit, he never responded to these insults. Yet, when he was elected President, Lincoln
chose Stanton to be his Secretary of War.(defense minister)

When asked why, Lincoln said, “Because he is the best man for the job!”

Later, when Lincoln had been assassinated, Stanton stood by the coffin which contained Lincoln's
body and said through his tears, “There lies the greatest ruler of men the world has ever seen.”

Love is above leadership greatness or influence…

Dios.

Sama sa pag gamit sa Ginoo kang apostol pablo YP God will also use your life to be a blessing to
others, God will use you to reachout to your non believer friends, God will use your life so that people will see
and feel the Love of Jesus.
