Hardware Lock Upgrade Instructions for CADWorx 2010

COADE has updated CADWorx to work with a new hardware lock. CADWorx 2010 will only work with the HL lock.
The HL lock will also work with CADWorx 2009/2008/2007. The new HL lock will not work with CADWorx 2006 or
any previous version of CADWorx.

Upgrading to CADWorx 2010 with a "local" lock:

Once you receive CADWorx and the new HL lock, install CADWorx to a new directory. The transfer will require
both locks to be plugged into the computer at the same time. The CADWorx License Transfer Utility
(HaspToHLCX.exe) is located in "..\CADWorx\ASSIDRV\".
For CADWorx Plant, the transfer utility will be in "C:\CADWorxPlant\ASSIDRV\HaspToHLCX.exe".
For CADWorx P&ID, the transfer utility will be in "C:\CADWorxP&ID\ASSIDRV\HaspToHLCX.exe".
Run this utility to transfer the information from the old HASP lock to the new HL lock. After the utility has
successfully completed the transfer, the new HL lock will be active. If you have both CADWorx Plant and
CADWorx P&ID on the same HASP lock, the utility will transfer all CADWorx license to the new HL lock.

Hardware locks are used by many software vendors. Hardware locks shipped by COADE may have multiple
labels. One label may be a COADE label with the COADE product name. The other label will be a more
permanent label found on most hardware locks. The permanent label will have an "ID" which can be used to
determine what type of lock it is. The CADWorx local HASP lock will have an ID of "WQZGB" and can be in
either parallel or USB form. The new COADE local HL lock will have an ID of "MQCQX" and is only in the USB
form. The new HL lock is available only in USB form. There is no parallel port version of the new HL lock. If your
computer does not have a USB port, a USB card will have to be purchased for the new HL lock. Use the ID and
images below to determine what type of locks you have before starting the transfer.

Upgrading to CADWorx 2010 with a "network" lock:

Network locks have the potential to have licenses for other COADE products (CAESAR II, PV Elite, TANK,
CodeCalc). When the CADWorx license transfer utility is run, the COADE customer information is copied from
the old NetHASP lock to the NetHL lock. In addition, only the licensing information for the CADWorx products is
transferred from the old NetHASP lock to the NetHL lock. The old NetHASP lock WILL NOT be able to run any
version of CADWorx after the transfer is complete.

The COADE NetHASP lock will have an ID of "EBODC" and can be in either
parallel or USB form. The new COADE NetHL lock will have an ID of "MQCQX" and is only in the USB form.
The new HL lock is available only in USB form. There is no parallel port version of the new HL lock. If your
computer does not have a USB port, a USB card will have to be purchased for the new HL lock.

The old COADE NetHASP came in four license variations: NET5, NET10, NET20, NET50
The new COADE NetHL has two license variations: NET10, NET50
The number after NET__ is the maximum number of licenses allowed on the hardware lock, and will also be on
the label attached to the lock.
NetHASP NET5 and NET10 will have to be transferred to a NetHL NET10.
NetHASP NET20 and NET50 will have to be transferred to a NetHL NET50.
Use the ID, NET__ values, and images below to determine what type of locks you have before starting the
transfer.

Using the CADWorx License Transfer Utility:

All of the utilities or maintaining or accessing the locks can be found within "\ASSIDRV" directory. The utility used
to transfer the license information from the HASP lock to the HL lock is
"..\CADWorx\ASSIDRV\HaspToHLCX.exe". Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the \ASSIDRV directory and
double click "HaspToHLCX.exe". This will open the dialog box shown in the figure below.

Follow the steps below to transfer the license:

Step 1: Plug in the old HASP lock and the new HL lock to the computer.
Step 2: Run the program HaspToHLCX.exe.
Step 3: Select whether you’re transferring a local or a network lock.
Step 4: Click the [Transfer Memory] button.

The utility will prompt to insure that the hardware locks have been connected to the computer, as shown in the
figure below.

The license information will be transferred from the old HASP lock to the new HL lock. Once the process has
been completed, the utility will report this fact, as shown in the figure below. Depending on your computer's
hardware setup, the transfer can take several minutes to complete.

Clicking the [OK] button at this point will close the application. Once the licensing information has been
transferred to the new HL lock, CADWorx should start as expected.

The CADWorx License Transfer Utility assumes that the old HASP lock contains valid licensing information.
Appropriate error messages are displayed if these assumptions are not correct. For example, if the local HL key
already has a valid CADWorx license, the following message will be displayed:

It is also assumes that correct locks will be plugged in for the transfer. For example, attempting to transfer
licensing information from a network lock to a local lock will generate an error.

Attempting to transfer a license multiple times from the same local HASP lock will also result in an error.

The license transfer will ONLY WORK for "full run", "non-limited" local HASP locks and NetHASP network locks.
Licensing for "date limited" locks will not be transferred.

Updating Multiple Locks:

If you have many locks to transfer, the licenses can all be transferred to the new HL locks using the same
machine. CADWorx License Transfer Utility can be run multiple times with different sets of the old HASP and
new HL locks.
