TOPIC 2: PIPE FLOW ANALYSIS

A pipe discharging water from a reservoir A is shown in Figure 1. The pipe is 100 m long and
has a diameter of 100 mm. The water is discharged into the atmosphere. The pipe has a
constant friction factor of 0.015 over a wide range of flow rate. If water is drawn at a rate of
10 L/s at B, which is located at the mid length of the pipe, determine the flow rate exiting at
C. Ignore separation losses. (CO2, PO2)(C5). (10 marks)
