Posit ion Availab le: Senior Med ical Off icer

Essent ia l Requ iremen ts:

 Graduate in Medicine ( MBBS )
 At least 5 years of experience in emergency room or ICU
 Familiar with the processes f ollowed in a contemporary tertiary care
hospital
 Able to undertake the evaluation and treatment of various patients
especially in acute care, under the supervision of a specialist in the
Emergency department
Respon sib ilit ies
 Duties including night and day at regular intervals.
 Hand -over / Take -over should include all information relevant to
continuity of patient care.
 Perform tasks as required in discussion with the consultant.
 Initial Assessment of all the patients in ER and entry of the same into
EMR.
 Reassessment of the patients at regular intervals an d the details to enter
in EMR.
 To plan and discuss the management plan of patients with ER
Consultants.
 To order investigations and medication through EMR.
 All f irst time resuscitation and minor OT procedures supervised and
signed by ER or specialty consul tant
 All discharges/ref errals to be agreed upon by ED consultant
 Detailed original documentation of the cases seen
 Volunteering f or case/educational presentations in ER
 Escort ambulances f or pre hospitals
 Participation in rounds along with the consultant.
 Coordination of activities with the department of Quality as and when
necessary.
 Perform all procedures under senior supervision.
 Follow protocols set up in the department.
 Facilitation of quick admission and discharge processes.
 All admissions shall be di scussed with the duty consultant.
 All criti cal incidents must be reported on the relevant f orm and verbally to
the consultant on call.
 Participate in training activities and academic sessions.
 Prepare discharge and death summaries.
 Actively participate in CMEs, seminars, journal clubs and other academic
activities.
 Promote the hospital’s vision of providing world class care to all patients
and be scrupulous in keeping
 to the highest standards and best practices of profession.
 Any other work assigned by Head of the Department.
