How To Get A Stripe Account from Anywhere

Here’s the procedure I’m using to operate my current

Stripe account.

Requirements:
- US Telephone Number (you can get a number using
Skype)
- EIN Number (you’ll get this from the IRS)
- US Bank Account
- US Mailing Address (There are a few websites that
offer this service. You can get one from USAMail for
$10. I make use of ShoptomyDoor because I also use
it to shop from Amazon

So here is the method:

Head over to www.stripe.com to create a new account

1) Bank Account
To get the US Bank account, you need to sign up for the
Global Payments Service by Payoneer.

Registration for Payoneer is straightforward and easy.

Just visit www.payoneer.com. Once you're done they will
send you the card (MasterCard), however you don't need
to wait to receive it and can start accepting payments
from Stripe right away.

2) SSN / EIN
This article is for foreigners and I assume you know
nothing about SSN (Social Security Number). One thing
you should know though is that it's hard to get it if you’re
not a citizen of the US.

The alternative to SSN is EIN – an Employer

Identification Number (EIN), also known as a Federal Tax
Identification Number, which is used to identify a
business entity.

To get the EIN you'll need to make a call to the IRS

(Internal Revenue Service) and do some homework:

 Download the form and fill it in beforehand.

  Call the IRS (number – (800) 829-4933) and say that
you need an EIN. They will ask you to send the form
by fax, but just say that you do not have a fax
machine and would like to do it by phone.
 The operator will ask you to have the form on hand
and dictate fields.
 In 10 minutes you'll have an EIN number which will
also will be sent to you by mail (in your home
country).

When you have your EIN, you can go to Stripe and switch
the LIVE/TEST switcher to LIVE, then click Activate
Account.

You’ll be asked to verify your phone number so they will

send a text to your US number with a code. This will help
them activate your account for withdrawals

You have to fill out all the fields, but be careful with the
following. Here is what you should choose:

Country: United States

Business type: Individual / Sole Proprietorship

EIN: The number you've received

Address: Any mail-forwarding address in the US (PO Box

Address)

Phone: Real US phone number (I advise you get a Skype

number for this. If you make use of free services, the
system will detect it)

SSN: 0000

Bank Account: Log in to your Payoneer account, click

Receive -> Global Payment Service and copy all the bank
info from there.

Cheers! You’ve successfully created and activated your

Stripe account…but you still need to do a few things. This
is the part most people leave out and it’s the most
important.

For your account not to have any issues, you should

receive a payment on it within 7 days after creating a
new account.

Then go to your payouts and change the setting to

manual.
After doing that, if you notice your payments are being
delayed, call their customer support with your Skype
number and ask them to look into it.

They may ask you your current location, so be prepared

to tell them that your details are valid, but you’re not in
the country at the moment.

Please maintain the Skype number for at least 30 days

after opening the account. In my case, they disabled my
payouts first so I had to mail them twice before they
apologized and restored my payouts.
