using different adjectives;
*T asks two Ss to come in front of the classroom and
T encourages the other Ss to describe their colleagues
by making comparisons between the two of them.

PROCEDURE *T presents Ss the theory related to the way in which
the comparative and superlative of short and long
adjectives is formed supported by examples. While T
tells Ss the rules for each category of adjectives, Ss
write in their notebooks the theory and the examples.

PROCEDURE *T gives the Ss handout 1 and asks them to work into groups of three
or four Ss. Each group should choose a leader who will read the
answers of her or his group. T gives them 5 minutes to solve the
exercise. When time is up T asks Ss to read loud their answers.

PROCEDURE *T gives Ss handout 2 and tells them that they have 7 minutes to solve
it. They have to formulate questions by using the superlative form of
the given adjective and provide answers for each question. Each
member of the groups should give an answer for the questions in order
to all of them express freely different opinions. When time is up, the
leader of each group reads their answers.

them. Ss should pay attention to each sentence and the leader of each
group should give the correct answer as fast as possible. While they
give their answers, T keeps the score. The members of the group who
give the correct and fastest answers get a ten in the register.
