BIOFAIR 2019
Upon entering the fair, I was amazed to the booths with different themes. The first booth
was all about the land ecosystem. I learned that the planet Earth is composed of 70% water, and
30% land. They gave awareness about global warming and some tips on how we can participate
for it not to spread. Their booths were designed with different plants which is very timely on giving
awareness about the advantage of planting trees. On the second booth was all about aquatic
ecosystem. They also focused on giving awareness about protecting life under the sea by not
throwing plastics and not destroying and harvesting corals. Because these said activities has a
huge negative impact on different sea creatures. While on the third booth, it was all about the
Genetics. Though the place of their booth was very hot, they still managed to explain well the
different genetic human dysfunctions, the DNA and RNA. Then, on the fourth booth was about
Microbiology. They explained the different tools they used in the laboratory. They also exhibited
different kinds of cultured molds, and they even prepared glass slides with molds that can be able
to see in the microscope. Amazing experience indeed!! Now, let us go to the next booth which is
the Botany booth!! They have this keyword that says, “Say yes to endemic species, say no to
pandemic species.” They tackled about the different plants that are located in our country. They
even have a Rafflesia design on their booth. Because of this booth, I learned that the biggest and
smallest rafflesia flower was located in the Philippines. I was mindblowned with the fact that we
have them in our country. Next was the booth of Bee-ology, this was one of my favorite booth
because it is very aesthetic and very interactive. They explained and gave a lot of facts about
bees and what products they can produce. I learned that a human cannot survive without bees
because, bees are the main producer of our food. Now, let us move on to the Zoology booth.
They prepared the different animal kingdoms and their classifications. Though the design of their
booth was not that attractive and interactive, they still managed to explain what they’ve prepared.
And to the not but not the least booth was, Biodiversity booth!!! This booth was also very
interactive because, they have this representation of quicksand, where you can able to experience
it by putting your hand in the representation they made. They also gave facts on how to survive
it. And to their last topic was about piranhas. I learned that there are mother piranhas and baby
piranhas.

My overall experience to this fair was really fun and indeed unforgettable! There were a
lot of stuffs I had discovered and learned. I will surely visit this booth every year. I was
overwhelmed with the design of the booths, though some are lacking of decoration, it was still
fun! I did not regret attending this fair. Also, the speakers in each booth are very professional in
delivering the information about what their booth is all about. I would like to give this experience
a 10/10 rate as I enjoyed and did not feel boring while touring each booth.
