1.) What is rhythm?

Is the regular recurrence of accented and unaccented beats.

2.) What is rhythmic activities?

Are the physical manifestations of the mental and emotional response of the individual to
rhythm. They are activities which a child responds to physically, socially, and mentally to regular
patterns of sound

3.) What is dance?

Refers to movement set to music where there emerges organization, structure and pattern. It is
a composition that implies arrangement of parts into a form.

4.) What is folk dance?

A folk dance is developed by people that reflect the life of the people of a certain country or
region.

5.) What is social dance?

Social dance is a category of dances that have a social function and context. Social dances are
generally intended for participation rather than performance and can be led and followed with relative
ease.

6.) What is modern dance?

A free, expressive style of dancing started in the early 20th century as a reaction to classical
ballet. In recent years it has included elements not usually associated with dance, such as speech and
film.
