An ambulance shifting a
critical patient to a hospital
was struck in traffic for more
than 30 minutes due to road-
side encroachments on Usman
Road service lane (T. Nagar)
on Aug. 28.
Traffic personnel nearby
came to the rescue to clear the
traffic.
The vendors who showed a
lackadaisical attitude adjusted
their carts to make way for the
ambulance.
The patient’s relatives
pleaded with the vendors and
other vehicles to make way for
the ambulance.

Traffic Department installed
a new watch tower below
Usman Road flyover between
Nageswara Road and Praka-
sam Road in T. Nagar on Aug.
26.
R. Thiruvengadam (Traffic
Inspector, T. Nagar Range) told
Mambalam Times that the
new tower will be used to regu-
late traffic for a longer length of
the road with the help of micro-
phones.
He said that similar watch
towers will also be installed on
Bazullah Road and G. N.
Chetty Road.
