ABSTRACT

The project entitled a study on Risk and Return Analysis of 5 major capital goods companies listed at NSE deals

with the risk and return analysis of the 5 listed big cap companies registered in the Stock Exchange and it is

associated with the investment made in them. The companies selected are, Bharath electronics ltd, Bharath

heavy electrics, BEML, Crompton and greaves and Larsen and Toubro. The importance of stock exchange has

grown tremendously over the past several years. It offers several investment avenues like shares, bonds or the so

called mutual funds which a financial innovation. Investing securities such as share, debentures and bonds are

profitable as well as exciting. But these investments does not guarantee an investor steady or regular income. It

is indeed rewarding as well as involves a great deal of risk. Investing in financial securities are considered to be

one of the best avenues for investing ones saving, while it is acknowledged to be one of the most risks a clines

for investment. I knew a thorough analysis is inevitable on the part of the investors be it individuals or stock

broking companies to reap the benefits later and to avoid some of the risks prevalent in the market. This is made

possible with the help of certain statistical and mathematical tools.
