A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Arts
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. recognize the arts of East Asian countries (Japan, Korea, China)
b. create and improvise the arts of East Asian countries (Japan, Korea, China)
c. appreciate the beauty of the arts of East Asian countries (Japan, Korea, China)

II. Subject Matter:


Topic: Arts of East Asia
References: Music and Arts of Asia (pp. 230-290) Grade 8 Learner’s Module
Materials: pair of scissors, bond paper, printed pictures, Laptop

III. Procedure
A. Review
What do you learn in the previous discussion?

B. Motivation
Guess the word by the emoji

 Arts of East Asian

C. Lesson Proper
a. Activities
The teacher will group the class into 5 groups. He/she will show pictures of some
paintings and the students will answer whether these paintings are from Korea, Japan,
China. The group who got the most correct answers will be the winner.
b. Analysis
Discussion: The teacher will discuss about the Arts of East Asia

c. Abstraction
For individual activity, the students will answer these questions:
1. What are the kind of arts of East Asia do you like the most? And Why?
2. What are the kind of arts of East Asia do you like least? And Why?

d. Application
After discussing, the teacher will group the class into 5 groups and the teacher
will show picture of some arts and each group will answer whether these arts are from
China, Japan, Korea.

IV. Evaluation
Answer the following questions.
1. Refers to the visual arts which cover the creation of images or objects in fields
including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and other visual media?
2. The art of “beautiful handwriting” with pen or brush with the use of ink, paint,
or watercolor on paper, silk or any similar material?
3. Refers to the traditional Japanese art of paper folding?
4. A kite is an assembled or joined aircraft that was traditionally made of silk or
paper with brownline and resilient bamboo?
5. Is a woodblock printing is a technique for printing text, images, or patterns
used widely throughout East Asia?

V. Assignment
Bring the following materials:
2 red colored recycled papers, pair of scissors, 1 folder, 1 or 2 light colored paper.
