Cultura Colectiva, a digital media company committed with its audience, is concerned about
the privacy and security of its users’ data.

All the publicly available data provided to us by Facebook, gathered from the fanpages we
manage as a publisher, is public, not sensitive, and available to all users who have access to
Facebook. We use that information to improve the users’ experience on the internet, and
also to generate content that will appeal to, engage, and inspire our audiences.

The UpGuard Cyber Risk team revealed that some of our datasets containing publicly
available data were exposed, which included 540 million interactions such as likes,
comments, and reactions. However, neither sensitive nor private data, like emails or
passwords, were amongst those because we do not have access to that kind of data, so
we did not put our users’ privacy and security at risk. We are aware of the potential uses of
data in current times, so we have reinforced our security measures to protect the data and
privacy of our Facebook fanpages’ users.

We are committed to complying with Facebook’s guidelines and also to protecting our users’
data and privacy at all times.
