What is Afrikan Yoga


Tama-re Smai Taui/ Afrikan Yoga is an ancient yoga practised
by our earliest ancestors to develop flexibility, suppleness, psycho spiritual
awareness and controlled relaxation of the mind and body, health and fitness to
bring about harmony with the self and the divine.

Format:
• 1 month intensive course (Africa)
• Daily Yoga Practise Residential Intensives led by Khonsu Sekhem Ptah

Teacher Training will take place at Per Ankh- House of Life in Kigoma (drum)
Village, Bushenyi, Uganda. This area of Africa is one of the mystical places Africa
has to offer and is situated close to the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the
Moon) the source of the Nile. Kigoma is lush, green and healing surrounded by
banana and tea plantations.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to experience the magical mystical healing
powers of Afrikan Yoga. Which will develop your practice immensely.
The training is designed to thoroughly prepare you for a career as professional
Afrikan Yoga instructor. Your life and your yoga practice will never be the same
the Teacher Training consist of:

Nefu Student Teacher Training. (Seed New Growth)

1. Steady practise of 135 days (85 hrs) plus Residential Teacher training
(270 hrs) A total of 355 hrs
2. Teaching classes under supervision (36hrs) and independently (36hrs)
3. Voluntary work for AY school and community (48hrs)
4. Study Afrikan Holistic Health.
5. Holistic health & Wellness foundation (35hrs)
6. 9 days of silence and 27 hrs of meditation on Retreat
7. Exam Practical/ Theory (3 hrs)

The student teacher training is a total of 540 hrs


The student will be able to use (AYT) Afrikan Yoga Teacher (YRT) Yoga
Registered Teacher at the end of their name on completion of the training and
be a certified teacher

Teacher Training standards for applying


We invite you to use this transforming experience to become a Smai/yoga
teacher or to deepen the experience of Smai/yoga in your every day life.
We have established criteria to joining the course to inform us of the groundwork
you have done in preparation for yoga teacher training. They include:

At least three years of personal practise (1 year of Afrikan yogic traditions-


kemetic/Egyptian)
Apply enthusiasm and self-motivation.
Come with commitment to learning, personal development and teaching.
Commitment to daily self-practice on topics covered in class.
We ask for
1. Students to be committed for 1 month with the course tutors
2. Write a daily journal of your practice
3. Demonstrate your understanding of the alignment of the posture its
symbolic meaning, energy flow, mental and physical benefits.
4. Prepare and teach an hour and half long Afrikan Yoga class for final
assessment

As an Afrikan Yoga teacher the expectation is to be rounded and grounded in


intellectual, practical and spiritual knowledge.

Course Materials

Knowledge of African and world History emphasizes the reconnection and the
awakening of KMT consciousness. Knowledge of eastern and western
idealogies, culture and systems facilitates the understanding of world
consciousness. The books, tapes, Cds and DVDs listed are recommended
study for Afrikan Yoga teacher training and are necessary for the historic
introduction to the Afrikan Tamarean legacy.
