OESA invites regular and affiliate members to attend a members-only

town hall meeting with Ruediger Koch, executive vice president,
purchasing, North America, Volkswagen de Mexico, and Thomas J.
Loafman, director, purchasing, Volkswagen Group of America, on
Sept. 9, 2010, at the MSU Management Education Center, Troy, Mich.
This is an OESA members-only event.

This is the third annual OESA town hall meeting with Volkswagen Group of America.
Attendees of the 2010 VW town hall will hear the Volkswagen global and North American
corporate strategy from Koch. VW Group has taken aggressive steps to move their
production volumes from number three in the world into the top two. The discussion will
also include VW Group purchasing objectives of:
• Identifying worldwide suppliers
• Accessing innovation and technology
• Achieving volume scale advantages
• Generating price and technology competition

Loafman will update attendees regarding VW Group expectations in these areas,

focusing his discussion on the Chattanooga, Tenn., plant and the mid-size sedan sourcing
progress. At the 2009 meeting, sourcing was approximately 70 percent complete with job
one targeted for early 2011. VW continues to balance the economics of global and local
sourcing.

For members, OESA town hall meetings represent an effective, additional channel of
communication with OEM executives to address important issues. For the vehicle
manufacturers, OESA town halls are an effective way to communicate with their extended
supply chains and receive direct feedback from suppliers to minimize unintended issues
during these volatile times. OESA members may register and network from 7:30 a.m. –
8:30 a.m. The town hall, including the question and answer session, will run from 8:30
a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
