connectors. See installation instruction diagrams page 6 for further details of removal of
generator cover.

3 ) U s i n g installation diagram page 7 locate and drill three (3) holes and mount connector X01 by
bending over the p i n connectors on the solder side of the board.

4 ) Solder jumper wire on solder side of U45 from P2 connector p i n 3 to X01 p i n 3 and glue to board
to secure i n place. See installation diagram page 8 and page 7.

5 ) Solder jumper wire on solder side of U45 from X I p i n 23 a,c to X01 p i n 2 and glue to the board to
secure i n place. See installation diagram page 8 and page 7.

6 ) Solder jumper wire on solder side of U45 from X I p i n 1 a,c to X01 p i n 1 and glue to the board to
secure i n place. See installation diagram page 8 and page 7.

7 ) Check to make sure all jumper wires are correctly installed and then reinstall U45 board i n the
generator.

1) M a k e sure power is turned off to Exposcop 7000 and w a l l outlet p l u g is disconnected.

2 ) Place a small foam or plastic sheet on top of the end of the C - A r c to support and isolate the
U2300 board assembly and the install cable from X01 U45 board to X I of U2300 board m a k i n g
sure connectors are correctly positioned.

3 ) Connect power cord to wall outlet of Exposcop 7000 and then turn on power. After 40 sec or so the
Exposcop 7000 should be ready to test U2300 board.

4 ) Press the laser key o n the Exposcop 7000 control keyboard. The laser on L E D should light o n the
control keyboard as w e l l as the U2300 board power o n led's and laser's modules.

The lasers should come on for 1 minute then go off. The on time is preset by i n the software.
Pressing the laser key again w h e n the laser's are on should turn off the laser also.

F A I L U R E O F L A S E R P O W E R O N TEST.
If the laser fail to turn on you must determine the problem and repair as necessary. See
schematics for U2300 board and interface to Exposcop 7000 U45, U325 boards page 9.

5 ) After the power on test is found to be working correctly turn off power for Exposcop 7000 a n d
remove power cord form w a l l outlet.

6) Install the four 3" mounting standoff's b y removing only one screw at a time from the collimator
assembly i n order not to disrupt the collimator alignment. See installation diagrams page 11
for further details of U2300 board.

7) Once the stand offs are correctly installed then mount the U2300 board to the standoff's. T h e n

Connect the cable from U45 X01 to X 1 A of U2300 board.

8) Connect power cord to wall outlet of Exposcop 7000 and then turn on power.

After 40 sec or so the Exposcop 7000 should be ready to test LT-7000 U2300 board.

9) Press the laser key on the Exposcop 7000 control keyboard. The laser on L E D should light on the

6) Install the four 3" mounting standoff's by removing only one screw at a time from the collimator
assembly i n order not to disrupt the collimator alignment. See installation diagrams page 11
for further details of U2300 board.

7) Once the stand offs are correctly installed then mount the U2300 board to the standoff's. Then
Connect the cable from U45 X4, to X I of U2300 board.

8) Connect power cord to wall outlet of Exposcop 7000 and then turn on power.

After 40 sec or so the Exposcop 7000 should be ready to test LT-7000 U2300 board.

9) Press the laser key o n the Exposcop 7000 control keyboard. The laser on L E D should light o n the
control keyboard as w e l l as the U2300 board power o n led's and laser's modules.

The lasers should come on for 1 minute then go off. The on time is set b y the Z I E H M W I N S R V .
software. Pressing the laser key again w h e n the laser's are on should turn off the laser also.

FAILURE OF LASER POWER O N TEST.

If the laser fail to t u r n on y o u must determine the problem and repair as necessary. See
schematics page 9 for U2300 board and interface to Exposcop 7000 U 4 5 , U325 boards.
10 ) To align the laser line generators w i t h the center of the Image Intensifier place a jumper o n JT
service test p o i n t . This w i l l keep the laser line generators on until the jumper is removed.
Center the laser lines to cross i n the center of the Image Intensifier at 45 degrees.
See installation diagrams page 12 for further details of alignment of the laser assembly.

11) If the lasers turn o n and off correctly and the alignment is complete, turn off the power to the
Exposcop 7000 and remove power cord from the w a l l outlet.

12 ) Install the filter cap w i t h laser w i n d o w s to the generator cover and reinstall generator cover.

13 ) Connect power cord to wall outlet of Exposcop 7000 and then turn on power. After 40 sec or so the
Exposcop 7000 should be ready to test laser and I.I alignment. Check laser ah'gnment if it is
still aligned then turn off the power to the Exposcop 7000 and remove power cord from the w a l l
outlet.

14 ) Once the alignment is complete secure generator cover and seal w i t h white silicon sealer.

T h i s ends part two of the installation instructions for the LT-7000 laser assembly.

INTRODUCTION:

Several labels are required for identification and for certification of the laser device.

1) The following example and location guides must be used i n placement of the labels to complete
the installation of the laser device i n the Exposcop 7000.

2 ) Install Caution Label 40-511-L10, Aperture Label 40-513 & 40-514-L10, Small C a u t i o n Label
40-512-L10 to control desk and Laser Caution W h e n Open Label 40-515-L10 as shown i n the
following diagrams pages 5 -6.

3) F i l l out the Manufacture certification label 40-510-L10 and included all information. Serial
number, M o t h and Year must be typed. The month and year of manufacture shall be p r o v i d e d
clearly and legibly, without abbreviation, and w i t h the year s h o w n as a four- digit number.

The month must be spelled out. i.e., January, February, June, etc... D O N O T A B B R E V I A T E .

The Year M u s t include all four digits, i.e., 1996,1997, etc. D O N O T A B B R E V I A T E .

The certification and manufacture label must be installed on the generator cover just above the
C - A r c attachment to the generator and must be positioned i n the m i d d l e of this area. Then
apply a clear label cover over the label to protect the information.

1) File Off Tips Of Switch Cam Hush With Collimator Ring Assembly To
Avoid Hiting The Hex Studs.

Do not remove Switch Cam to file edge. Move ring assembly to allow
access to file edge of the Cam. Cover Tube head assembly parts to prevent
fillings from getting into tube assembly circuit boards and collimator.

Make sure no lose filings from the switch cam are left in the tube head
assembly.

By carefully turning the laser with the center slot it can be
twisted to intersect with the other axis laser line generator
to form a cross at the center of the grid aligned with the
grid mounting screws.
Once lines are correct use retaining screw
on side of laser mount to secure laser.
WARNING DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN RETAINING
SCREW AS LASER MODULE WILL BE D A M A G E .

By adjusting the three screws the laser can be tilted

to align with the I.I grid mounting screws to provide
a beam cross as low as possible above the skin cone.
Tilt Adjustment Tilt down The inside two screws should be tightened first to tilt
Screws the laser module inward toward the center of the
board. However be carefull not to adjust them to
much.

The retaining screw is used to slide the laser along a

limited distance slot to center the laser to the ouput
glass and help align it with the center of the II.
