SYMBOLIC

ARCHITECTURE

The Tapasya Block and Mirambika follow a similar

Aurobinxdian architectural vocabulary in planning

and elevation. The graphic symbols of Sri Aurobindo

and The Mother are generators of the plan. The

structural system of load bearing with columns

wherever required is also common to both the

buildings.

There are twelve courtyards in both the buildings,

which represent the twelve aspects of The Mother.
