AT WORKSHOP

1.0 PURPOSE

This document is established to outline general procedure & implementing effective activities for installation work of internal
tray & packing. This provide guidance includes addressing programs for :
- implementing commitments regarding the efficiency and quality with the safe work.
- managing and providing oversight to ensure installation with explain step by step whole of activities accordance standard code
and related document.

2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This procedure covers the internal tray installation work of XXXX at XXXX Workshop.

2.2 The tray installation will be carried out by XXXX team in horizontal position as per agreed by XXXX. Therefore no
lifting plan & scaffolding erection required since the tray can be carried by hand.

2.3 All work to be done in closed workshop.

METHOD STATEMENT ON
INTERNAL TRAY INSTALLATION
AT WORKSHOP

4.0 PROCEDURE

4.1 The XXXX department representative should inspect all internal column before and after the internals are installed, (to
avoid discussions about causes of attained out of tolerances after installation of internals.

4.2 In addition, process tray vendor’s (XXXX) representative should inspect such towers at the earliest oppurtunity.
Possible non-conformance with the design requirements may thereby be identified, and remedial action taken as
necessary.

4.3 Inspection by installation team (XXXX) and process tray vendor’s (XXXX) representative is necessary to ensure that
the column has been correctly erected either horizontal or vertival position that already agreed. Additionally,
inspection on site/workshop for ‘non-conformance with design requirements’, should be a formality if the column was
carefully inspected by the XXXX representatives, prior to release from the XXXX.

4.4 Before lifting internal trays and packings, the job site shall be thoroughly surveyed and the activity carefully planned,
taking into consideration following items.

- Equipment Shape, Dimension, Weight, Material, Center of Gravity (COG) as well as confirming the last vendor
drawings information to rigging plan (if any).

4.5 List of temporary equipment and tools to be prepared.

5.0 HANDLING OF INTERNAL TRAYS AND PACKING.

5.1 The internal trays and packing shall be unpacked in the presence of QC Inspector and XXXX representative or
XXXX representative. All spare parts and tools shall be unpacked clearly marked with trays numbers and stored in the
warehouse. The parts shall be clearly identified by the tags with trays number.

5.2 The trays and packings should not be placed directly on the earth, wooden blocks/pallets to be used.

5.3 After checking the internal trays and packings and confirming that there are no discrepancies, internal trays and
packings shall be stored or delivered to installation site.

6.0 INTERNAL TRAY AND PACKING PREPARATION

6.1 Before installation, all location, elevation and orientation of the trays and packings and support structures shall be
dimensional checked and verified in accordance with installation drawing.

6.2 All documents related to the trays and packings should be at job site with the concerned crew following erection.

6.3 All internal tray will be erected in horizontal position of the column either in workshop or installation site.

7.0 INSTALLATION

7.1 Internal manways are left and column manholes are left open with 1-2 blowers located at each end of excess to ensure
the enough ventilation due to lack of space within the tray.

7.2 Only designated person from XXXX team is allowed to enter the column during installation & inspection.

7.3 Trays, if any to be installed during pre-commissioning. In certain instances, these will be installed after pickling,
degreasing or flushing activities.

7.4 HSE Safety Officer need to be informed before enter the column. If necessary, the confined space work permit need to
obtained as per standard HSE requirement. Enclosed Space Entry/Confined Space Permit.

7.5 Suitable PPE should be wear during installation by minimum such as (safety helmet, safety shoe, eyeglasses, hand
gloves & ear plug).

8.0 TRAY INSPECTION CRITERIA

8.1 All inspection criteria should be followed the XXXX installation manual & inspection checklist to be provided by
XXXX for verified by XXXX representative and XXXX representative.

8.2 Mechanical integrity and robustness of tray installation. Check that bolting and sealing is tight and that the superficial
condition of tray components is in good condition.

8.3 A measurement verification exercise to establish the degree of conformity of the installation.

8.4 The various contributors to tray installation faults are as follows:

- Tray verticality, affecting;

- Tray support ring levelness.
- Downcomer weir levelness as well as fabrication errors for these items, plus
- Buckling and out-of-flatness of the tray panel

8.5 Prior installation, below item need to check before issue the inspection release note :
- Random check for any loose bolts.
- Check number of trays/valves.
- Check drain holes in seal pans
- Check position and dimensions of slotted holes
- Check DC clearances per XXXX drawings (should be same over the total length).
- Check weir heights per XXXX drawing (should be same over the total length).
- Check provisions for expansion (beams, valve type inlet devices, spargers, distribution etc.).
- Check for levelness (important on vacuum towers with minimum tray liquid depth).
- The out of flatness and out of levelness of trays after installation should be within tolerance.
