Objectives

Resources/Materials/Tools
Main Idea: What the text is mostly about or what the author wants us to
know.

Terms/Vocabulary
Details: facts, examples, or details that support the main idea. (things we
learn from the text).

Smartboard: The smartboard will be used as a clear space to project
whatever it is that the teacher needs to project. It helps students see what is
being projected in a designated space where they know where to look.

Projector: The projector will be used to project the short paragraph and to
model if needed.
Technology Resources
Doc Camera: The smart camera will be used to model to students what is
expected for them to do. Without using the smart camera students will not
be able to see what the teacher is modeling. That is why the camera is very
important and contributes to the learning of students.

Book: The book will contribute to students learning because they will learn
how to find details from a book/text and then use those details to find the
main idea of the story.

Other Resources Chart paper – The chart paper will be used to create an anchor chart. The
anchor chart will help students understand how the details help find the
main idea. The anchor chart will also serve students as a resource where
they can go back and look at it if they need help/guidance or a refresher.

Markers: The expo markers/markers will help teacher write down

information on both the whiteboard and the anchor chart so that students
can visually see what teacher is trying teach and so that they can go back
and see what was written and use it as a resource.

Pencils: The pencil will contribute to student learning by them using it to

write down their answers. It is important for students to be able to write
down their answers because it shows the teacher who understood the
material and who needs extra help.

Short stories: The short paragraph will contribute to student learning

because it give them the opportunity to show what they have learned. It will
also be used as their assessment.

White board – The teacher will also write down student thinking so that
they can see it visually.
