Introduction What is your understanding of DepEd’s vision and mission?
What is the role of your school in delivering DepEd’s vision and
mission?
The DepEd’s vision and mission serve as the blueprint that
will guide the department on what to attain, who must attain, when to attain and where will all its attainment go.
The school heads, being the educational leader, must focus
seriously on what are stated in the DepEd’s vision and mission. As the chief instructional leader, each school head translate the vision and mission into feasible school programs and projects. For the school heads to lead all stakeholders work toward the implementation of programs and projects, he/she must be equipped with the KSA of a transformational democratic leader and a perceptive leader. A perceptive leader who at the same time sensitive to the needs of the learners.
The DepEd’s vision and mission is too huge in scope and
too heavy to attain without community support. It is the task of the school head to lead motivate both the internal and
external stakeholders to take action harmoniously together to
come up with refined, strong, unique and differently wrapped and packaged products that will meet the local, national and global demands … the FILIPINO GRADUATES.
Problem Problem 1 The urgent need to improve the Reading Skills of
Description learners by reducing the number of non-readers and increasing the number of learners at Independent .
The problem on the existence of learners at the frustration
level started from the primary grades. This problem was discovered when an assessment on Literacy Level was given to pupils.
This problem affects the learners too much. They fail to
develop self-esteem, fail to appreciate the beauty of his existence in the classroom and worst, and can’t set the direction of his future.
This problem affects the learners at instructional and
independent levels too, because the lesson becomes too slow. The learners get bored sometimes and become restless. The school performance gets low. Literacy 2017 2018 Percentage Results Level Percentage Percentage Decrease/Increase Level Level Frustration 43 27 37% Decrease Level Instructional 38 29 24% Decrease Level
Independent 22 43 95% Increase
Level Non- Reader 16 2% 88% Decrease
The table shows that joint efforts of internal stakeholders
improved the learners reading skills. Pupils in the higher grade level who were identified by the Reading teachers level as served as mentors of pupils who are poor in reading. This is in addition to the reading sessions conducted by teachers and volunteer reading teachers in the community.
Problem Problem 2 Poor teachers response on the K-12 pedagogies
Description
This is the number one problem identified when observing
teachers. This is a result of teachers attitude to embrace changes and sometimes, failure of the institution to train competent teachers
Poor teacher pedagogies in processing the learning events is
very observable inside the classroom because the 21 st century skills are poorly developed.
This problem affects the learners because they become ill
equipped for higher education, unprepared for employment and worst failed to develop skills that will make them independent and responsible person. Teachers Performance Results 2016- 3.88 2017- 3.98 .10 2017 2018
The teaching performance of teachers had a negligible
improvement. Young teachers have inadequate preparation on both content and pedagogies while old teachers have mastery of content but have outdated teaching styles. There is the need to provide further trainings to both.
Problem Problem 3 Poor parent support on pupils need to improve
Description attendance and performance.
The problem was identified during the first HRPTA meeting.
The same observation holds true until the recent HRPTA and GPTA Meeting.
Only around 25% of these parents get involve on school
activities. This reflects the quality of attention and support they give to their children. Poor parental support results to failure of learners to develop the learning skills to the fullest. They also have the tendency to acquire the attitude and values of parents toward education.
Results: Parents involvement in school events like HRPTA and
GPTA Assembly, co- curricular activities like academic, sports and cultural activities provided assistance and support to pupils.
Statement What results do I want to see after solving the problem?
of Project Objective
Problem 1 1. The learners at frustration level be reduced X
from 23% to 5%.
2. To increase the Quarterly exam PL to 75% and
above. X
3. To attain the National standard for NAT results.
4. To prevent recurrence of learners at Frustration
Level in the incoming school years. x
Solution Only a fraction of what was aimed at was carried
Given out. Consistent efforts of internal stakeholders will result to the solutions of problems identified.
Problem 2 1. Every teacher applies the teaching pedagogies X
that will result to the development of the 21st century skills.
2. That every learner will find every lesson
interesting because he can discover, create communicate to peers and the community, analyze and think critically, evaluate his actions and apply his learning in solving problems. x
Solution Behavioral changes on teaching will take time.
Given Gradual changes in the teaching pedagogies will have observable effect at least in 3 years.
Problem 3 1. Parents HRPTA and GPTA attendance be √
improved by at least 75%.
2. Parents involvement in school programs and
projects be improved by at least 75%. √
Benefits of Problem 1 The learners will benefit from solving this
solving the problem. They will be equipped with the basic problem learning skills that they need for higher learning. They will develop the attitude of appreciating the importance of being equipped with learning skills they need to learn more, get ready for higher education, entrepreneurship or employment.
