Letter of Intent

I, Md Saydur Rahman, highly interested to study Bachelor of Applied Science, major in Systems
Engineering General at the University of Regina, Canada, UofR Campus. My family is financially sound
and solvent. I have completed my Higher Secondary Certificate Examination in Science from M C
Academy School & College, Sylhet Bangladesh. I have achieved IELTS overall band score 5.5 which I
know is not sufficient to get admission directly to any Bachelor program abroad, for this reason, I wish to
complete the ESL (English as a Second Language) program that University of Regina is offering to the
International Students. I believe that the successful completion of the ESL program will help me eligible
to get admission to study my desired undergraduate program at University of Regina.

There are so many reasons that compel me to choose Canada to complete my undergraduate degree on
Systems Engineering.
First and foremost, Canada itself a country with multicultural, developed economic infrastructure,
developed communication systems, huge opportunities, wonderful place for living and of course great
place for receiving education for international students. Moreover, Canada has so many universities and
institutions with great numbers of courses which provide quality education, affordability and security,
quality of life and of course friendly environment for international students. That’s why many students
like me find Canada is the perfect destination for having higher education. Furthermore, I met so many
highly qualified System Engineers and executives in our country who are working in renowned company
as systems engineers, leaders, managers such as Grameenphone Ltd., Robi Axiata Limited, Ericsson,
Huawei Technologies, Banglalink and many more companies who were graduated from foreign
Universities and Institutions and working in their respective places successfully. Actually I am very much
influenced by them and have a dream to complete my master degree upon completion of my Bachelor
degree from any Canadian University or Institution and get back to my country to secure my job position
as a successful System Engineer in any multinational company where I can be paid better salary.
Moreover, bachelor or master degree’s courses are not that great standard in Bangladesh compared to
Canada. The education system in Bangladesh has yet to be developed to the point where it can stand toe
to toe with the education system and quality of the world-renowned universities. Since the study in
Bangladesh is dependent more on theory rather than practical knowledge, I have chosen to study abroad
which opens my path for better quality education as well as an international degree which will help me
further uplift my status among others when I return back to my country.

As much I have been informed by the website that University of Regina is one of the best universities in
Canada. It provides world class education which is recognized all over the world. As I know from the
University of Regina web site that many international students from different countries have chosen
University of Regina as their dream place to have higher education particularly on science and
engineering courses and other various subjects as well. I was inspired to see the rankings and reputation to
have world class engineering education from University of Regina, Canada. So I have decided to enroll in
University of Regina, Canada, UofR campus to complete my Bachelor of Applied Science, major in
Systems Engineering General degree.
I am writing to apply for University of Regina, Canada’s Bachelor of Applied Science with a major in
Systems Engineering (General) degree. I feel that this program would be a very significant step towards
my future prospects of becoming a successful System Engineer in any multinational company of
Bangladesh. Because of multinational organizations refers to engineering activities that involve managing
and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure, installing, configuring, testing and maintaining
operating systems, application software and system management tools; ensuring the highest levels of
systems and infrastructure availability. I believe that studying Bachelor of Applied Science with a major
in Systems Engineering (General) at the University of Regina Canada will provide me world class
engineering education. I am pretty much sure having Bachelor degree on Systems Engineering from
abroad will open my door of wisdom to establish new idea, create sustainable path to flourishing my
organization where I will work and make me more skillful to deliver my knowledge and experience on
particular field of System Engineering.

After completion of my Bachelor degree on Systems Engineering from University of Regina, Canada go
for the Master of Engineering from the same department. And after successfully completing my Master
degree in Systems Engineering I will get back to my native country where I can get very prestigious job
with great salaries and incentives as a Systems Engineer in many reputed multi-national companies such
as Grameen Phone Ltd., Robi Axiata, Nestlé – Bangladesh and so on. Having a Canadian certificate of
System Engineering will play a significant role on my future career.

As a loving son of my parents, I have also some responsibilities towards them. I will definitely get back to
my home country to live with my family members. I have responsibility to look after my family members.
As the educated citizen of my beloved country I have some responsibilities to serve my country in any
possible ways. As my family is financially well established, sound and solvent, everybody is earning, so
it’s not a big deal to pay my tuition fees, food and accommodation bill. My family is willingly
contributing to pay my tuition fees and accommodation bill. We have lots of property in my local village
where we get great amount of money in every year.

I would like to make sure that as an International student I will obey all the rules and regulations held by
Institution and Canadian Government. As the student of Bachelor of Applied Science with a major in
Systems Engineering General, I will proof myself as an obedient and the best student of the institution.
Above all, the statement of purpose I have perused, it is clear that this degree would open ways to the
flourishing universe of systems engineering. I would like to take this opportunity to say that taking into
account all of my comments I hope that you would be kind enough to grant me an opportunity to grant me
the opportunity to study at my dreamed place which is University of Regina, Canada.
