Greetings Brethren,
In April, I'm asking you to step up to your obligation and put into action our
second tenet; Relief.
Relief: A relieving, as of pain, anxiety, a burden, etc. Anything that eases
tension, or offers a pleasing change. Aid, esp. by a public agency to the
needy. Release from work or duty.
The definition is not specific as to the form, but the message is clear; offer
help to someone.
Consider Mt. Ararat's raffle - buying and/or selling tickets helps Harford
Family House and other charities to be named later. In this small way you
are making a difference in other's lives. Consider our more senior Brothers
who might need a ride to Lodge or a friendly phone call. Consider you
neighbors, coworkers, friends, people you might meet at the store; what can
you offer to bring relief? A helping hand, assistance with a task, a simple
kind word.
And practice makes perfect. Start off with small actions and gradually build
up. Be the person that always pays it forward. It doesn’t have to cost a
thing, only a portion of your time.
