Choose a programme

Send your Documents
Once you’ve chosen a university and a programme that you’d like to apply for, it’s time to
send the required documents. There is a list of documents you need to send us, including
your previous academic certificates from your school or university, passport,
photograph etc.
Receive your letter of offer

If the university is happy with all the documents you provided,you will receive a
conditional acceptance letter to your email address, and all that’s left to do is to pay the
deposit to secure your place and apply for your visa. You will receive the offer letter within
2 days for bachelor and 2 weeks for postgraduate programs.
Pay your tuition fees

You should pay the deposit that your university demanded from you to to secure you
place and to get final acceptance letter.

Education systems do vary from one country to another. Dif-
ferences can include how academic years are structured, how

The higher education system in Turkey is supervised by the

Council of Higher Education which is responsible for the
planning, coordination and governance of the higher education
system in Turkey in accordance with the Turkish Constitution
and Higher Education Laws
Since study programs of higher education institutions are

approved by the Council of Higher Education, those study
programs are also recognized. Also, most academic programs
are recognised by ABET (USA), Engineering Australia, UK NARIC
and many other recognition bodies all around the world.
Turkish universities participate in the Bologna Process, the
European Union program which means all programs are rec-
ognised by EU countries too.

About Isik
ISIK University, which was founded by the Feyziye Schools
Foundation, an institution that is one of the oldest education
foundations with a 130-year educational legacy, first opened its
doors in 1996. The Feyziye Schools Foundation, an institution that
was initially founded under the name of Feyz-i Sibyan School in
1885 in Thessaloniki and witnessed the period from the Ottoman
Empire to the Republic of Turkey, assumed the name “Isik Lisesi”
with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s approval. “Isik Lisesi” carries the
honor and dignity of uniting with Ataturk’s primary school Semsi
Efendi Mektebi.
ISIK University, along with the kindergartens, elementary and

primary schools of Nisantasi, Ayazaga, Erenköy and Ispartakule,
has been added to the chain of education of the Feyziye Schools
Foundation, and continues its educational mission with campuses
on both the Asian and European sides of Istanbul - in Sile and
Maslak respectively.

losophy and unique education teaching
model. We want our students to associ-
ate what they have learned in university
with those in real life, to be able to ap-
ply what they have learned and to be in
real life in the course of their education.
For this reason, as part of our educa-
tion and training programs, internship
is compulsory in our curriculum. Our
students spend at least one semester
in a workplace operating in their field.
We implement the model of 7 plus 1
semester internship for our bachelor’s
degree programmes, 6 plus 2 semester
internships for our four-year high school
programmes, 3 plus 1 semester intern-
ship for vocational degree programmes
and we’ll make sure that our students
are at work for at least one semester.

the Internship Coordination Unit of the
University.

GEDİK Education Foundation (GEV), in connection with

Istanbul GEDİK University, was established by the Ex-
ecutive Board of GEDİK Holding on 07.09.1994 in order
to contribute to education in general and specifically to
the development of welding technology in Turkey.
Education-Training started with five Programs under

“GEDİK Vocational School” when Istanbul GEDİK Uni-
versity was established on 06.04.2010 with a Decree
of the Board of Ministers. Law no. 6114 on 03.03.2011
reorganized the University under the title “T.C. Istanbul
GEDİK University”. Presently here are four faculties,
three institutes, one vocational school, eight research
and application centers and a school of foreign lan-
guages at Istanbul GEDİK University.

aims to be one of the world’s prominent and comprehensive
universities. Its strengths lie mainly in the area of social sci-
ences and humanities as well as having great engineering and
architecture departments.
Why Izu?
Scholarship for success

IZU offers students with merit various range of scholarships.
None of the international applicants is accepted with full tuition
fee. Every IZU international has at least 25% tuition fee waived.
Students can also get rates of scholarships when they get more
than 3.40 gpa and within the first 5 in their grade. Additionally,
there are monthly stipends who are both successful and in
need. There is also an oppurtunity to get scholarship for staying
at IZU Guesthouses.
