IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMPUTERIZED ONLINE INSURANCE

APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION SYSTEM

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

1.0 Introduction

Online Insurance Application and Registration System is a web application which

is developed for tracking the details of the insurance policy, customer details and
company details. This web site is an online insurance Analysis and information
management system that provides easy access of information regarding the people
and resources of insurance. User can view their own personal details when login
into the Policy Holder module. This project is useful for any kind of insurance
company to manage the insurance details, to sanction the insurance for customer,
process the insurance policy details and all kind of insurance process through online.
The Insurance management system is a complete solution for organizations, which
need to manage insurance for their vehicles, equipment, buildings, and other
resources. This insurance management website has facilities like search tools for
insurance awareness articles, guidelines, illustrations through images for visitors.
This online insurance management system can efficiently manage the company,
records, provides instant access and one that improves the productivity. In this
online process the user enter into the website it will show details about insurance
and its types, also it will show the details about different duration schemes to the
corresponding insurance type or insurance policy. The main objective of the

 developed system is to allow admin users to register insured persons with their
name, date of birth, residence address, medical history and also policy details. In
this process contains the user registration form which is used to apply for insurance
policy through online. It also helps the customer to view their own insurance status
information. After giving registering all the insured persons, website should provide
management facilities like delete unwanted persons’ data. And also should provide
awareness to the visitors about micro insurance through articles. If the user
registered insurance policy to this website, it will process that registration form by
verification and immediately give the temporary policy holder ID to the user.

1.1: Background of the system

This online insurance application and registration system is the way people get
insurance from people and time-intensive process to being automated fast, smart and
easy way to pay insurance. Our proprietary system incorporate. Whereby the system
consist of the following categories Motor insurance, health insurance, marine
insurance, commercial insurance, travel insurance and etc.
Somalia Takaful insurance company opened 2013 in capital of Somalia Mogadishu.
This Islamic insurance firm become first established insurance since the collapse of
the central government of Somalia more two decades ago.
The key issues and challenges facing on the Somali Takaful insurance company, while
Somalia has been without any form of insurance since the collapse of general
government. Thus exposing business to risks, which would otherwise have been
shielded from such risks. Therefore this this report is intended to provide useful for
online insurance.
The system will have the following functions

1.2: PROBLEM STATEMENT

The current problems is offline insurance system and data cannot be accessed.

By the way reliability and availability of data storage it’s so difficulty and recovery of data.

according to our country lack of online insurance all the insurance companies seek to
provide of their customer good service and that will not be available without system so I
trying to develop system because there is problem that exist takaful insurance company.
The following problem is still exist for insurance company in Somalia

 Records are maintained manually

 The customer should visit the insurance office to know the policy details
 The policies are purchased are directly visiting the insurance office
 New policies arrivals are not intimated to the customer in time
 Payment is done in person

The purpose of this project is to established online insurance application and registration

system to end the offline insurance processes and how to determine and study to record

and get data by online way to make effective insurance to our society next years.

1.4: OBJECTIVES OF STUDY

The objective of this project is to create Online insurance application system that makes
work easier, stores and retrieves data quickly and controls flow of data in insurance
company efficiently and it is also able to compute calculations correctly.

4. Displays detailed information about the different types of insurance
policies provided.

1.5: SCOPE PROJECT

This system is proposed to operate in Somalia, duration of this project is about 6 months
(from march to august 2019) the content of this system is emphases online application in
JSP (java server page) the content of this scope may constant registration and finance
only that is intended to developing programing language such as JSP front and MYSQL
as back end.

1.6: Significance of the project

The expected outcome of this project is to develop online insurance application based
on user requirement need. This proposed will be used in insurance application system
and which will avoid loss time consuming to employee. This project will be helpful to
insurance application researchers through for online insurance application, the main
aims is developing a suitable information system to coordinate the activities of online
insurance application and registration system

1.7: Report organization

This system of online insurance application and registration will consist of six chapter
sequentially. Chapter one explains more about introduction to the project it represent
and explains the problems and solution. Chapter two is literature review .chapter three
present the software planning and analyzing. Chapter four represent software design
.chapter five present the system implementation and operations .chapter six wich is
last chapter will be conclusion and enhancement.
