renovated during the course of construction work.

4. Egress: required egress shall not be obstructed at any time. Egress at existing
corridors; fire stairs, etc. must be maintained at all times.

5. All existing means of egress may not be used to store materials, equipment and debris.
Transportation of all materials, equipment and debris must be coordinated with
building superintendent.

6. Existing fire safety for all occupied units shall be maintained and not diminished. All
building materials stored at construction area and /or in any area of the building are
to be secured in a locked area. Access to such areas are to be controlled by the building
owner and or general contractor.

7. The general contractor shall ensure that dust is controlled and that disposal of
construction debris is performed in such a manner as to not interfere with occupied
units. Debris, dirt and dust are to be kept to a minimum and be confined to the
immediate construction area, and be cleaned up and cleared from the building
periodically to avoid any excessive accumulation.

8. The general contractor shall ensure that noise is limited to acceptable levels in
accordance with the New York City noise control code.
9. Construction operations will be confined to normal working hours 9am to Spm,
Mondays thru Fridays, except legal holidays. Unless an after-hours work permit
variance is secured from the department of buildings.

10. Structural: no structural work shall be done that may endanger the occupants.

Tenant Safety Notes:


1. Egress: At all times in the course of construction, clear the halls, exits and fire escape
drop ladder landing areas so they are free of debris and obstructions. Construction
operation will not block hallways or means of egress for tenants of the building.

2. Fire Safety: All necessary laws and controls, including those with respect to occupied
dwellings, as well as additional safety measures necessitated by the construction shall
be strictly observed.

3. Health requirements. Disposal of construction debris should be conducted daily at the


end of each work day. Construction operations will not involve interruption of heating,
water, or electrical services to other tenants of the building.

4. Compliance with housing standards. All work to conform to housing and maintenance
code. The New York State Multiple Dwelling law shall be strictly observed.

5. Structural safety. No structural work shall be done that may endanger the occupants.
Noise restrictions. Construction operations will be confined to normal working hours:
8am to Spm Mondays through Fridays, except holidays.

6. Noise restrictions. Where hours of the day or the days of the week in which
construction work may be undertaken are limited pursuant to the New York city noise
control code, such limitation shall be stated.

EXAMINED FOR ZONING, EGRESS AND FIRE PREVENTION ONLY, AS PER DIR, NO. 2 OF

Brick Masonry Crack Repair
1. Remove all loose and deteriorated masonry from the repair area plus an additional
1/4" to sound substrate prepare 1/2" min. square-cut shoulder at perimeter of patch.

2. Scarify substrate w/toothed chisel to provide greater surface area for bond.
Thoroughly clean substrate w/clean water and natural bristle brush to remove all
debris dusr, grease and/or laitance that may prevent proper adhesive.

3. Moisten porous substrates until glisten wet at vertical applications and well dampened
surface (w/no ponding water) at horizontal applications.
4. Mix repair mortar as per manufacturer's directions to the consistency of wet putty,
a.k.a. the 'peanut butter’ coat. Apply the 'peanut butter’ coat to the moistened
substrate appx. 1/8" thick. NB. ensure ‘peanut butter’ coat is applied to shoulders of
repair.

5. Whilst 'peanut butter’ coat is stil] wet, apply the (drier) repair mortar mixed according
to manufacturer's directions build up the material beyond the surface of the original
material (1/8" min.)

6. Whilst mortar is still damp pre-screed or Scrape the mortar down, leaving it appx.
1/8" proud. Allow mortar to dry before final finishing. Clean around edge of patch
w/sponge and clean water to remove €xcess mortar from adjacent masonry.

7. After achieving initial set, when repair mortar has consistency of slightly damp sand,
scrape away excess mortar a little at a time until desired profile is reached.
8. During curing process keep patch and adjacent masonry damp by misting periodically

and shading for several days after installation, according to ambient conditions.
9. Remove uncured mortar from perimeter of patch w/sponage and clean water several
times before it dries to prevent ‘halo’ effect at adjacent masonry.
NB. Provide appx. 4"x4" sample in place for engineer's review.
Limestone Spall Patch Repair - Shallow: =< 1" depth, <= 6" Face Dimension
1. Remove all loose and deteriorated masonry from the repair area plus an additional
1/4" to sound substrate prepare 1/4" min. square-cut shoulder at perimeter of patch.

2. Scarify substrate w/toothed chisel to provide greater surface area for bond.
Thoroughly clean substrate w/clean water and natural bristle brush to remove all
debris dust, grease and/or laitance that may prevent proper adhesive.

3. Install and embed stainless steel threaded rod and/or ssl. welded wire mesh
reinforcement (as appropriate) where repair depth exceeds 1" or face dimensions
exceed 6" in any direction.

4. Moisten porous substrates until glisten wet at vertical applications and well dampened
surface (w/no ponding water) at horizontal applications.

5. Mix repair mortar as per manufacturer's directions to the consistency of wet putty,
a.k.a. the 'peanut butter’ coat. Apply the 'peanut butter’ coat to the moistened
substrate appx. 1/8" thick. NB. ensure ‘peanut butter’ coat is applied to shoulders of
repair.
