Applicability
Software releases 16.0 and 16.0.0.1 are compatible with all 450 platform models (both PMP and
PTP), also 430 SM in 450 compatibility mode
Feature Overview
System Release 16.0 includes:
PMP 450m AP 3 GHz PMP 450m AP This release introduces the 3 GHz PMP
450m AP. This product cannot be
downgraded prior to system release
16.0.
PMP 450m AP UL MU-MIMO support This release adds support for MU-MIMO
capability to PMP 450m APs in the UL
direction.
PMP 450m AP UL Link Test with Multiple LUIDs This release adds support for UL Link
Test with Multiple LUIDs capability to
PMP 450m AP.
PMP 450m AP AUX port support This release adds POE out and Bridging
through the Aux port at 100BaseT in
both 3 GHz and 5 GHz.
PMP 450m AP DC LPU support for 450m AP This release adds support for DC
lightning protection unit (LPU) to the 3
GHz PMP 450m AP.
PTP 450b 5 GHz PTP 450b This release adds support for PTP 450b.
This is not supported in EU countries.
PTP 450b/450i GUI configuration for SM/Backhaul This release adds support for GUI
configuration to change a PTP keyed
450b/450i into a PMP SM.
All 3 GHz Co-Location with LTE In 3 GHz band, the 450 family of
products can be co-located with LTE
devices.
UL MU-MIMO support
This release introduces the MU-MIMO feature for the PMP 450m AP in the UL direction, for
transmissions of UL ACKs and data. This feature applies not only to the new 3 GHz PMP 450m AP,
but also to the 5 GHz PMP 450m AP.
Note:
To use this feature, both SMs and the 450m AP must be upgraded to 16.0. If SMs are left on an older release, UL
traffic will continue to be scheduled SU-MIMO.
450m AP MUMIMO-3286 Added limited license support (Trial Mode) for UL-MUMIMO
in the 450m limited product.
450m AP MUMIMO-3167 The QoS data channel levels (i.e. LP, MP, HP, UHP), that can
be MU-MIMO scheduled is now configurable in 16.0. In prior
releases, this was fixed with LP and MP being MU-MIMO
scheduled, and HP and UHP being SU-MIMO scheduled.
3 GHz 450i/450m/450 MUMIMO-3376 To bring the PMP line into compliance with the most recent
regulatory requirements for Australia, 40MHz support has
been removed for Oceania/Austrialia region/country. Any
Australia customers currently using 40 MHz should be aware
of this regulatory restriction for 16.0 prior to considering any
upgrades.
NOTE: It is not recommended to change the default setting,
except for specific deployments (e.g. video serveillance for
traffic using DSCP 40).
All CPY-15259 Added more countries in the country list under Europe.
3 GHz 450m MUMIMO-3364 Enables single LUID beamform boost on 3 GHz (up to 52
dBm of boost).
450/450i/450b SM’s CPY-11394 16.0/16.0.0.1 introduce three new attributes to the AAA
Radius Dictionary. See the Multiple port VID and MAC address
Mappings section later in this document for more details.
Embedded Software
Prior to upgrading 450 Platform Series software, please read section Upgrading Software. System
Release 16.0 may be installed via CNUT (Canopy Network Updater Tool) using the following
software package:
CANOPY16_0_BUILDofficial_PXP45x_S.pkg3
Or via cnMaestro:
CANOPY_16.0.tar.gz
Upgrading Software
Use version 4.12.8 of the Canopy Network Updater Tool (CNUT) to upgrade to Release 16.0.
CNUT 4.12.8 supports legacy Cambium products.
CNUT and its release notes can be downloaded from the Cambium support web site:
https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/cnut/
Network Management
Wireless Manager v4.5.6 may be used to manage Cambium PMP networks, including managing
the RADIUS features. For additional information, see the Wireless Manager website at:
http://www.cambiumnetworks.com/products/management-tools/wireless-manager
Other VSA's can be used interchangeable , there is no order but it has to be in pair.
In free RADIUS server, these VSAs can be configured in the following way:
Cambium-Canopy-PortMap-Priority=3,
Cambium-Canopy-PortMap-VLANID+=77,
Cambium-Canopy-PortMap-MacAddr+="D4-81-D7-D3-50-FA",
In the GUI, when VSA is applied it can viewed in the Configuration > VLAN > Active Configuration
page.
Note:
For customers using the port VID and MAC address mappings, it is advised that both AP and SM should be
running 16.0.0.1. Additionally, if RADIUS is enabled, please configure Bandwidth Configuration Source to
'Authentication+SM'.
cnMaestro
cnMaestro may also be used to manage Cambium devices. cnMaestro version 1.6.3 is compatible
with existing hardware as well as the new 3 GHz 450m for existing functionality. However, the new
cnMaestro 2.0.0, version, expected to be released with PMP’s 16.0 release provides additional
support – including cnMaestro support for “link test with Multiple LUID’s” in both the UL and DL
direction. This allows a user to test MU-MIMO via link test from cnMeastro. See the cnMaestro
release notes for more information. For additional information, see the cnMaestro website at:
Note:
Hotfix has been posted on Dec 4th on the Cambium support site that supports all 16.0 MIB changes.
Canopy MIB
The Cambium Enterprise MIB (Management Information Base) consists of 7 MIB definition files
and supports SNMP access to Canopy modules. The MIB files are available for download from:
https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/pmp450/
MIB files are used by Network Management Systems and Element Management Systems, such as
the Wireless Manager system to support a host of surveillance, monitoring, control, and
operational tasks.
If you are using an SNMP network management system (NMS) or element management system
(EMS) other than Wireless Manager: Load the MIBs per the instructions for your NMS or EMS.
Note:
When loading the MIB files:
l First, load the standard MIB files
l Then, load the Radio-specific MIB files
Some NMSs are not sensitive to order, but some require a specific loading order to build a MIB
tree. Loading in the recommended order avoids these issues.
450m AP MUMIMO-3507 After the initial release of 16.0, Cambium has received customer
reports of an issue in 16.0 where, in some 450m customer sites, SM
de-registrations and sessions drops are seen. A 16.0.0.1 BETA-1 release
is being posted on the Cambium BETA forum to address this issue.
Please upgrade to this beta release if impacted by this issue. This
problem and fix, is specific to 450m AP’s.
450/450i/450b SM’s CPY-15457 VLAN Configuration Poort VID MAC Address Mapping not
functional in 16.0
450m MUMIMO-3515 A simple note has been added to the field_diags download page on
450m AP’s to warn against moving away from this page until
download is complete.
All SM CPY-15463 The fix properly terminates a failed AAA Re-authentication. Prior to
this fix, SM software would leave the SM in a state where it would
struggle to lock onto the beacon and re-register.
All SM CPY-15460 A cnMaestro device agent fix for occasional issues with MPU
violations seen on SMs (which would cause them to briefly reboot
then register).
All SM CPY-15468 Fixes an issue where SM-initiated link test would occasionally show a
0 Mbit DL result.
450m AP MUMIMO-3515 Warning added to the field_diags collection page to suggest users be
patient and not navigate away from the page before collection has
finished. Impacts only 450m AP’s.
All CPY-15208 IPv6 Protocol Filtering doesn’t work from config file import
All CPY-15088 Bad/Corrupt uGPS telemetry can cause seg fault in msg processors
All CPY-15142 SNMPv2c traps are not sent if “SNMPv3 Read-Only User” is not
Canopy or Canopyro
All CPY-15134 Decrypted SNMPv3 trap PDU is not similar to corresponding SNMPv2
trap PDU
All SM/BHS CPY-15187 Config file downloaded from SM and BHS does not have any json
config
