GENERAL TRAINING INFORMATION


Title of the training Proposal For Dasmariñas East Integrated High School – Araling
Panlipunan In-Service Seminar on Localization and Contextualization
Target Participants and Participants to this activity are the Araling Panlipunan Teacher of
Number of Participants Dasmariñas East Integrated High School composed of eighteen (18)
teachers, composed of 6 male and 12 female.
Proposed Date and Venue The DEIHS-Araling Panlipunan In-Service Seminar on Localization
and Contextualization will be held on October 24-26, 2018 at
Dasmariñas East Integrated High School, San Simon, Dasmariñas
City, Cavite
Funding Source Expenses shall be charged to the School MOOE subject to usual
accounting and auditing rules and regulation
Proposed Budget Proposed Budget for this activity is one hundred sixty nine thousand
two hundred pesos only (Php. 169,200.00), which covers
honorarium for the guest speaker, food, certificates, use of
conference room, sound system, GAD T-shirt and plaque.
Registration Fee No registration fee shall be collected from the participants.

Rationale Cognizant to Article XIV, Section 14 of the 1987 Philippine
Constitution which states that “The State shall foster the
preservation, enrichment, and dynamic evolution of a Filipino
national culture based on the principle of unity in diversity in a
climate of free artistic and intellectual expression” and Article XIV,
Section 5. (1),which states that “The State shall take into account
regional and sectoral needs and conditions and shall encourage local
planning in the development of educational policies and programs.”;
Republic Act 10533 entitled Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013
section 10.2 (d) and (h) “ the curriculum shall be contextualized and
global”; and “ the curriculum shall be flexible enough to be enable
and allow school to localize, indigenize, and enhance (the
curriculum) base on their respective educational and social context;
and the DepEd Mission.
Training Objective This activity aims to:
1. Embed to the Araling Panlipunan teachers the DepEd
Mission “To protect and promote the right of every Filipino
to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic
education… ;
2. Explore the challenges and consider/developed approaches
to address localization (indigenization) and
contextualization in teaching and learning process; and
3. Gain functional and operational understanding of
localization and contextualization in the learning area.

Methodologies
Expected Outcomes At the end of the one day seminar and capacity building activity the
participants:
(1) Promote and developed zero-tolerance for any act of child
abuse ;
(2) Capacitate teachers with awareness and understanding in
handling children’s behavior especially those who are in
conflict with the law and children at risk ; and
(3) Increase teacher’s knowledge on preventing common
occupational disorders.
