Thompson Hospitality School Dining Services

Meal Plan Scholarship Award


Chartwells-Thompson School Dining Services is a strategic partnership between Chartwells and Thompson
Hospitality, the largest minority-owned foodservice company in North America. We have provided foodservice
management for Duval County Public Schools since June 2009.

A one-time meal plan scholarship will be awarded to five students from a Duval County Public High School, who
plans to continue their education at a Historically Black College and University with food service provided by
Thompson Hospitality. The current list of qualifying schools are as follows:

Bowie State University Cheyney University Edward Waters College


Elizabeth City State Univ. Fisk University Florida Memorial Univ.
Lincoln University, PA Miss. Valley State Univ. Morgan State University
Norfolk State University Oakwood University Savannah State University
Shaw University Tougaloo College Tuskegee University
Univ. of MD Eastern Shore Virginia State University Virginia Union University
West Virginia State Univ.

Scholarship Deadline:

The scholarship submission deadline is April 12, 2019. Scholarships post-marked after this date will be returned
to sender with no action taken.

Eligibility:
The scholarship is open to high school seniors who will graduate from a Duval County Public High School. Five
winners will receive a one-time meal plan scholarship to be applied towards their post-secondary education.

Requirements:
• Acceptance letter/proof of enrollment into a Historically Black College and University
• Submit a copy of official high school transcript
• Submit completed application
• Submit essay (1000 words or less)
