32. If you own the company, will you be satisfied by seeing an increase in profit?
Answer: Not satisfied, because there was a significant decrease in cash
balance of 350,000, which was 400,000 in 20X2 to 50,000 in 20X2.
33. If you pay attention to what activities are the most cash out? Analysis of causes
and consequences.
Answer: Investment activity, namely for the purchase of fixed assets. The
reason a company purchases fixed assets is because the company aims to
maintain and expand its operations so that it is expected to increase and
maintain the company's revenue and future cash flows. This transaction /
activity resulted in an increase in the fixed assets account on the balance sheet
but decreased the cash balance significantly during the year.
34. Compare cash flows from operating activities with net income. What does it
mean if the cash flow of operating activities is still positive.
Answer: If the cash flow of operating activities is still positive, it means that
the income earned can still cover the expenses that arise. With a positive
operating cash flow, companies can make new investments, pay interest, pay
off debt, and pay dividends. Or in other words, a positive operating cash flow
is an indicator that from its operations, the company can generate sufficient
cash flow to pay dividends, pay off loans, invest new ones without relying on
external sources of funds.
35. Where are the sources of financing activities and what are the sources of
funding? Is it right for the company to distribute dividends in 20X2.
Answer: Funding sources can be from issuing shares, bonds, long-term debt,
or other sources of capital instruments. The funds are used for example to
distribute cash dividends to shareholders, repay loans, etc. Not right, because
even though the company earns a fairly high profit compared to the previous
year, it is not balanced with an increase in the cash balance even though the
operating cash flow is positive.
36. The company's profit in 20X2 increased (700,000), while the company's assets
increased by 1,500,000. Explain why an increase in assets is greater than the
profit earned.
Answer: Because of an increase in the value of inventory and investment /
purchase of fixed assets and the recognition of receivables and accumulated
depreciation.
37. With the existing balance sheet conditions, calculate the company's liquidity in
20X1 and 20X2. What is the comparison of the condition of a company's
liquidity between 20X1 and 20X2 (increase or decrease)? What is the solution
to be taken?
Answer: To find out the company's liquidity, Current Ratio (CR) can be used
as follows:
Current liabilities
350,000
Current liabilities
900,000
