What is a workplace procedure?


 sets out the steps to be followed for work activities
 resolving work health and safety issues
 consulting with workers on work health and safety
 monitoring workers’ health and workplace conditions
 providing information and training
 detailed instructions about how policies should be carried out by employees in which provide a
link between the organization’s plans and strategies and day-to-day operations
 protocols are similar to procedures but deal specifically with the agreed ways in which
organizations interact on a specific matter.
 Procedures may be:
 mandatory (i.e. must always be followed) or
 discretionary (i.e. to be followed if required).

the level of your creativity and ability to work well with others. Inconsiderate behaviors such as
rudeness and gossiping also interrupt the smooth flow of the workplace. Your behavior even may

Examples of behavior that may affect the quantity of work


 Being punctual – Time is the most important commodity. A 5 minute late in your appointment may
cause you to loss a busy boss. A five minute could have enabled you to make more products. In other
words, by being punctual and vigilant of the time, more work can be done or more valuable things can
be fulfilled.
 Willing to work in a group/Participative – As the saying goes, ‘two heads are better than one’, when
you are willing to work with your group, there will be a bigger possibility that you would finish a task
ahead of time or produce more outputs. When you know that each of your colleague are participative, it
would result to a productive team in which you can trust them to do their assigned task for the
accomplishment of your project/task
 Proactive in work/Initiative – It is you who will first put trust to your abilities to finish a job, and by
being initiative, you will be able to work properly and finish more job, also your initiative. It is also
measured by your willingness to suggest ways to complete tasks more effectively or efficiently to
produce more and great outputs.
 Flexible in one’s competence – Distractions in any form will always be present in any workplace, thus
your ability to cope with those will help you to focus on your job, to shoulder different work assignments
or to modify work methods/schedule, and to accommodate changing needs of the units which are
valuable for the accomplishment of your job and to produce more outputs.
 Obedient to the leader or rules – By being proactive to follow an instructions/commands, it will enable
you to properly finish a job and to be able to produce more outputs
Examples of behavior that may affect the quality of work
 Responsible in actions – It is when you take account of your own actions and decisions in which
you manifest commitment to accomplish work in an ethical, efficient and cost-effective manner.
You also have the drive to complete projects ahead of time without compromising your output and
adhere to established work schedule to ensure a good quality work.
 Positive 'Can-Do' attitude – You are always ‘on the go’, ready, available, and willing to get the job
done despite your personal issues. You are professional to set aside your personal problems to be
able to work and be productive to produce a quality work.
 Honest in decisions – It is a must for a worker to be honest with their decisions and action
because when you admit your own mistakes, you will be able to have time to make corrections in
your work and to avoid more trouble and bigger consequences
 Careful actions - You are cautious to decide and do what is best and right to have a perfect and
quality work.
 Thorough/Neat in work - You give intense attention to every detail of the work to be able to
produce clear, quality and complete presentations of information in your work.
