2021" and in the processes of construction of the National Youth Policy.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

♦ Incorporate the youth in the process of implementing the lines of action and goals
of the "Young Challenge to 2021".

♦ Strengthen the capacities of young people for their participation in the process of
building national policies.

♦ Identify the lines of strengthening of youth organizations and spaces for youth
participation.

♦ Strengthen the bond of trust with Peruvian youth.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE NATIONAL MEETING OF YOUTH LEADERS
2019
More than 70 representatives from different regions of the country met at the
National Meeting of Youth Leaders in order to make their contributions to the
development of the National Youth Policy and the implementation of the Young
Challenge 2021.

In the event, organized by the National Secretariat of Youth (Senaju) and

developed during two days at the Huampani Vacation Center, workshops were
held on the problem of youth organizations, their participation spaces and the lines
of action for the Young Challenge to 2021.

Likewise during the meeting, various activities were carried out as well as
presentations by the National Secretary of Youth, also participation of Federico
Arnillas, president of the Round Table for the Fight against Poverty, Marcela Artica,
representative of the United Nations Volunteer Program , and the National
Secretary of Youth, Henry Jordan Medina.

We were able to talk about what is an agenda to 2021 in which young people are
the main capital.

YOUNG CHALLENGE TO 2021

Agenda that seeks to promote the integral development and exercise of the
citizenship of young people towards the Bicentennial, will also allow to strengthen
the planning processes of the actions oriented towards their well-being.

This document has been prepared by a working group created by the Ministry of
Education (Minedu) and made up of representatives of the National Secretariat of
Youth (Senaju), the Vice Ministry of Pedagogical Management and the Office of
Strategic Planning and Budget.
Subsequently, a normative instrument will establish the specific activities that
Minedu and Senaju will develop in order to make visible the progressive
achievements and the impact generated by said agenda.

The Young Challenge agenda is based on the contributions of the Regional Youth
Forums, which were developed throughout the country between July and
September with the participation of 1,300 young people, as well as the conclusions
of the virtual consultation held in November, where 5,649 young people from
different regions.

In addition, the agenda also includes the contributions of the youth made in the
thematic workshops held in December in Lima.

In this way, the Senaju proposes to articulate the efforts of the State and bring
them closer to young people by promoting their participation in their
implementation by establishing goals and strategies for the development of their
actions by 2021 in three prioritized themes: gender equality, integrity and
sustainability

ACTIVITIES PERFORMED

ACTIVITY: "CONNECTING"

A personal presentation was prepared (on an A3 or two A4 sheet), which contained

our characteristics, the youth organization to which we belong and our region.

The format is free, but you must consider the 3 points mentioned and develop them
creatively. You can use colors, markers and any type of material that you consider
appropriate for the presentation.
ACTIVITY: "INSPIRE"

During the meeting "Inspira" was developed, a space where the initiatives or
projects of the organizations were shared through the Pechakucha format, which is
a simple presentation where 20 images are shown, each one for 20 seconds,
which helped us to be able to tell our ideas and connect with the public.

ACTIVITY: "CULTURAL NIGHT

"The "Talent Night" was held at the meeting, which consisted of a cultural activity
and integration between the participants and the Senaju team.
CONCLUSIONS

 At the closing ceremony of the event, Yuliana Valencia, lawyer and activist;
Ana Revilla, head of the General Office of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, and Diego Padilla, founder and director of the Urbes Center,
offered their comments and recommendations on the initiatives presented
by the participants, focused on the axes of gender equality, integrity and
sustainability.

 We can highlight the great encouragement that we have as young people to

be able to help and be agents of change in our regions and wanting to
achieve an impact at a national level, all young people know that we are on
a good path and we will see the achievements of the efforts what we do as
young activists.

 The commitment we have of the more than 70 young participants is the

drive and commitment that is put, no one should be left behind, we must all
move forward in the same direction and with the same idea that is the most
important.

 I call on more young people to get involved in these youth spaces because,
like me, I went to this youth meeting much more and they can only do so
and it is only a question of just proposing nothing more.
GLOSSARY

ACTIVISM

Activism or militancy is the intense dedication to some line of action in public life,
whether in the social field, as in the political, ecological, religious or other. Activism
is also understood as the primal estimate of action, as opposed to quietism.

CORRUPTION

Political corruption refers to criminal acts committed by officials and public

authorities who abuse their power and influence by intentionally misusing the
financial and human resources they have access to, anticipating their personal
interests and those of their relatives.

CULTURE

In a general sense, all that with which man refines and develops his innumerable
spiritual and corporal qualities; try to subdue the same terrestrial orb with your
knowledge and work; makes social life more human, both in the family and in all
civil society, through the progress of customs and institutions; finally, through time
he expresses, communicates and conserves in his works great spiritual
experiences and aspirations so that they serve as a benefit to many, and even to
the whole human race

GENDER

Is a specific technical term in social sciences that refers to the "set of differentiated
characteristics that each society assigns to men and women" .2 So, when talking
about gender, it is referring to a relational category3 and not to a simple
classification of subjects in identity groups
INSPIRE

Causing or producing a certain feeling this person inspires me a lot of sympathy.

Conceiving ideas for the creation of an artistic work the landscape inspired that
poem.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is to assume that nature and the environment are not an

inexhaustible source of resources, their protection and rational use being
necessary. Sustainability is to promote social development seeking cohesion
between communities and cultures to achieve satisfactory levels in the quality of
life, health and education.

YOUTH

The concept of youth, a term derived from the Latin word iuventus, identifies the
period that lies between childhood and adulthood. The Organization of the United
Nations (known as the UN) has defined youth as the stage that begins at 15 and
extends to 25 years of life of every human being, although there are no precise
limits on this. The higher life expectancies make that, in certain aspects, people of
40 years are considered as young people.
