Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to introduce undergraduate students to computational
methods using MATLAB. At the end of this course, a student would:

Course start date is 5th February 2018
The course will be covered in the following eight modules: One module per week.
Video lectures will usually be of 15 to 20 minutes in duration. (Except Module-1, where
introductory lectures may be longer). The table below gives information about the
modules and the schedule followed in this online course:

MATLAB Availability
MATLAB Online, a fully-featured browser-based MATLAB version will be available
to the course participants free of cost, courtesy of MathWorks.
Information regarding the same will be provided two weeks before the course start, i.e.
on 22nd Jan.
This will allow participants ample time to review whether this course suits their
requirements. We will also upload a background problem-sheet two weeks before the
start of the course, i.e., January 22nd.
Videos for each subsequent module will be uploaded along with that module’s
assignment on the same day (i.e., Monday).
All the lecture videos (for all 8 weeks) have already been archived at the NPTEL
website at: http://nptel.ac.in/courses/103106118/.

Simply watch the videos, do the practice problems and submit your assignments.

This is an NPTEL certification course. Certification is optional.
If you wish to get certification, please register for certification as described on NPTEL

Exam will account for 75% of the grade. More details provided when course starts.

Assignment Submission
Assignment needs to be completed using MATLAB (either the one provided by their
university / institution, or MATLAB Online provided in this course). The results should
be uploaded before the submission deadline on the NPTEL Online Course portal.
You may submit assignment multiple times before the deadline. However, only your
last attempt in each problem will be counted.
Assignment Deadlines
Assignments will be uploaded every Monday for that particular module. Inclusive of
the Monday, you will have 10 calendar days to solve the problems. The assignments
will be due by 11 pm on Wednesday of the following week. The assignments need to
be submitted strictly by the deadline.
Assignments will be due by 11 pm on each Wednesday, for the entire run of the course.
Please plan on submitting assignments well in advance to avoid any issues with
accessing our servers.
