Welcome to Madhya Pradesh –this multi splendoured land for its

rich heritage, legendary pilgrim centres, scenic beauty and wild
life. The heartland of India known in ancient times as Malwa
preserves as many as 1800 monuments that testify to the glory
of its past. The Chandella’s world-renowned exquisitely carved
temples at Khajuraho are a paean to life, love - unique in all
the world, of all the multitude of figures in the friezes, the most
famous are the mithuna couples - highly provocative sculptures
of love and lust! Buddhist art has its finest relic in the unrivalled
2000 year old Great Stupa of Sanchi with its exquisitely carved
gateways or toranas, part of UNESCO’s World Heritage list.
Take in the lake side capital city of Bhopal, with its refreshing
gardens, imposing mosques and unfinished 11th century temple.
The fabled city of Mandu, now a ghost town is grand by day
and romantic by night, while the well-preserved Gwalior fort and
palaces have their own dramatic and colourful history. Take a
break from temples, Stupas and forts at the beautiful hill resort
of Pachmarhi. Or marvel at the mile-long gleaming limestone
cliffs – the framed marble rocks of Jabalpur. The verdant forests

Madhya Pradesh, the ‘Heart of India’ has been home to
the cultural heritage of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and
Islam. Innumerable monuments, exquisitely carved temples,
stupas, forts and palaces are dotted all over the State. It
is richly endowed with spectacular mountains, rivers and
dense forests offering an exciting panorama of wildlife in
sylvan surroundings.
BHOPAL
Bhopal represents a harmonic symphony of old and new.
The old city is a maze of narrow streets, crumbling palaces,
colourful markets and beautiful mosques, whilst the new city
is amongst the greenest cities of India. Major attractions
include the Taj-ul-Masjid, Bharat Bhawan, the Tribal
Habitat Museum and Van Vihar – a safari park. Sanchi is
known for its Stupas, monasteries and pillars.
PACHMARHI
Pachmarhi is a lovely hill resort surrounded by low lying
rugged hills, ravines, beautiful forests, breathtaking
waterfalls, serene pools and quiet glades. The places to
visit include Jata Shankar – a sacred cave dedicated to Lord
Shiva; Pandava Caves, splendorous big falls and a fairy pool
and finally the Priyadarshini or the Dhupgarh Point known
for its spectacular view of sunset.
KANHA NATIONAL PARK
The Kanha National Park covers an area of 940 sq.kms and
it is one of the most well known tiger reserves worldwide.
There are herds of spotted deer, beautiful antelopes, the
black buck, the barking deer and the rare barasingha, the
Swamp Deer. There are 175 varieties of birds in Kanha. The
park remains open between 1st November to 30th June.

JABALPUR
The capital city of the Gond Kings, Jabalpur offers the prime
attractions such as Madam Mahal Fort, the Rani Durgavati
Memorial and a museum. The marble rocks at Bhedaghat
rise to a hundred feet on either side of the river Narmada.
These white rocks with views of black and dark green
volcanic seams are truly majestic and have quite a magical
effect on moonlight nights.
GWALIOR
Gwalior a historical city, is rich in cultural heritage and
architectural marvels. The massive fort overlooking the city is
a testimony to its glory and grandeur. Gwalior changed hand
from the Tomars to the Lodhis of Delhi and after the Moghuls,
it was finally ruled by the Marathas. Each era and rulers left
their impression on this city but what remained unchanged
was the imposing fort that has withstood the assault of time.
KHAJURAHO
The Khajuraho group of temples is noted for their lofty
terraces and functionally effective plans. The sculptural
embellishments include besides the cult images; marinara,
pasha, ovarian devotes, impalas, the asperses and sura-
sundaris which win universal admiration for their delicate,
youthful female forms of ravishing beauty.
ORCHHA
Orchha has the palaces and the temples built by its Bundela
rulers in the 16th and 17th centuries. Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo
built the exquisite Jehangir Mahal, a tiered palace crowned
by graceful chhatries. In the Laxminarayan Temple, vibrant
murals encompassing a variety of religious and secular
themes, bring the walls and ceiling to life.

Day 1: Arrive Bhopal
Welcome to Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.
On arrival at Bhopal airport or Bhopal railway station,
begin your tour of ‘Heartland of India’. You will be
transferred to your hotel. Enjoy your city tour of Bhopal
in the afternoon.
Day 2: In Bhopal • Day excursion to Sanchi
(60 kms / approx. 2 hour drive)
This morning you will drive to Sanchi, known for its
stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating back
from the 3rd Century BC to 12 Century AD. The evening
is free for shopping at Chowk and the local markets.
Day 3: On to Pachmarhi (190 kms / approx.
5 hour drive)
Leave early morning for Pachmarhi, a lovely hill resort
surrounded by low lying rugged hills, ravines, beautiful
forests, breathtaking waterfalls and serene pools. En
route, visit Bhojpur and Bhimbetka Caves - that has
been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Arrive
at Pachmarhi and check into your hotel. The rest of the

Day 1: Arrive Gwalior
Welcome to Gwalior, the city of true royals. On arrival
at Gwalior airport or Gwalior railway station, begin your
tour of ‘Heritage of Madhya Pradesh’. You will be
met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon enjoy
a half day city tour visiting the massive sandstone fort
doting the city skyline, the 9th century Teli Ka Mandir
and the 11h century Sas Bahu ka Mandir. In the evening
witness the spectacular sound and light show (entry on
direct payment basis) where the history of Gwalior and
its warriors is narrated.
Day 2: On to Orchha (235 kms / approx. 5 hour drive)
Leave in the morning for Orchha. En route visit the Phool
Bagh, Dinman Herdaul’s Palace, Sunder Mahal and the
cenotaphs built in the memory of the rulers of Orchha. On
arrival, check into your hotel. Later, visit Jehangir Mahal
built by Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo, Raj Mahal and Chaturbhuj
temple. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this
beautiful village.
River with its deep gorges, tranquil valley and dense
teak forests. If you are lucky, you could sight tigers
and panthers along with herds of chinkara, sambar and

Falls en route and other waterfalls in the area are

was popularly known as Dandakaranya.
KAWARDHA
Kawardha is a small, beautiful town of Chhattisgarh,
located at the edge of the scenic Maikal Hill ranges
and to the south east of the famous Kanha National
Park. Kawardha famous for its exceptional natural
beauty and unique cultural heritage, offers an
enchanting and tranquil retreat to its visitors. It is
also famous for 11th century AD Bhoramdas temple
known for its exquisite stone carvings, religious and
erotic sculptures.

Day 1: Arrive Raipur • On to Jagdalpur (315 kms /
approx. 7 hour drive)
Welcome to Raipur, the capital of newly formed state
of Chhattisgarh. On arrival at Raipur, begin your tour
of ‘Chhattisgarh Experience’. You will proceed on a
scenic drive to the Jagdalpur - the district headquarters
of Bastar. On arrival, check into your hotel.
Day 2: In Jagdalpur
Today, you will proceed on a day visit to Bison Horn Maria
tribe and witness their colourful dance at Guriapara. Also
visit the Danteswari Mai Temple at Dantewada and the
Ganesh Temple at Barsur. View the scenic waterfall at
Chitrakot, also known as the Niagara Falls of India.
Day 3: In Jagdalpur
This morning, visit Kanger Valley National Park, a
paradise for nature lovers. Major wildlife of the park
are the wild cat, chital, sambar, barking deer, jackals,
langurs, pythons, cobra, crocodiles, monitor lizards and
snakes to name a few. Also visit the enchanting Tiratgarh
Waterfalls and Kutumsar Caves which has stalactites
and stalagmites in fantastic formations.
Day 4: On to Kanker (235 kms / approx.
6 hour drive)
Early morning you will drive to Kanker. En route visit
Baligaonpara and the surrounding villages of Muria
tribes and the iron and dhokra craft villages near
Kondagaon. On arrival in Kanker, you will check in to your
hotel. The evening is at leisure or you can visit the local
bazaar - the ‘haat’.
Day 5: On to Kawardha (280 kms / approx.
7 hour drive)
Early in the morning, begin your drive to Kawardha. En
route is the temple city of Rajim where you will visit
