0 - Set-up Asset Number to comply with Global Taxonomy as per Global Asset Number (G.A.N) (e.g KR2-TRH04-ENG-TBO)
1 - Measure Asset useage various asset levels (Asset/Component and Sub-Compnonent)
2 - Schedule Asset (Component/Sub-Components) based on usage and last change-out (Actual End Date)
3 - Suppress Asset Activities across different asset levels (Parent/Child)
4 - Track COST at different asset levels (Parent/Child) based on incedences of Asset Activities (No. of times activities are performed)
5 - Minimise the no. of Schedules per Operating Asset (i.e TRUCK - Parent Asset) to three (3) as listed below:
- 1 x BASE DATE Schedule (for Calendar based activities such as Daily Inspections and 3 Monthly AFFF Inspections)
- 1 x BASE METER Schedule (for activities to be planned on specific meter intervals such as 250 hr PM Service, 500 hr PM Service etc)
- 1 x ACTUAL END DATE Schedule (for activities to change out components and sub-components at specific meter intervals such as Engine, Turbocharger and Injectors etc)
We would prefer to set-up Asset Numbers with 3 or 4 levels (as per Senario 1) and comply with Taxonomy Document (G.A.N and Appendix 8)
However, this creates problems with regards to Activity Association, Activity Suppressions and Asset Meters when scheduling.
We have provided examples (Senarios) to explain/demonstate our understanding, preference and the perceived implications and ramifications.
Can you please review the attached worksheets and confirm which senario best meets system requirements.

Question: Can activity "CATAD55KR.006" suppress its' child activity "CATAD55KR.007/8/9" as per Senario 1 (This is our preference, but does not comply with extract from Manual listed below) ?
OR
Do we make the sub-components such as TURBO the same level as ENG to allow for suppression "to asset activities in the same asset level" whilst maintaining activity association to the correct asset as per Senario 2?
OR
Do we HAVE to associate activities to the ENG only to allow for suppression "to asset activities in the same asset level" as per Senario 3?
IF Senario 3 - Does this mean that we will have NO activities associated with the Turbo (i.e KR2-TRH004-ENG-TBO) ?

Question: If we want to meter TURBO we MUST have Asset Number (e.g Senario 1 = KR2-TRH004-ENG-TBO ; or Senario 2 = KR2-TRH004-TBO)
We can use either Senario 1 and Senario 2

We use BASE DATE for calendar based activities such as Daily Inspection (every 1 Day) and Fire Suppression System Inspections (evey 90 days);
Senario Activities are to be associated with the KR2-TRH004;
Question:
1 Use Meter KR2-TRH004.M001; and
Use one schedule KR2-TRH004.S001
We use BASE METER for activities such as PM Services that need to be done on a specific hour interval;
Activities are to be associated with the KR2-TRH004;
Senario Use Meter KR2-TRH004.M001; and
Question: 1 Use one schedule KR2-TRH004.S002
PLEASE NOTE: Senario 1 only works when asset levels are the same (as per example 250/500/100/2000 HOUR SERVICES); otherwise NO Suppression across asset levels
We use ACTUAL END DATE for activities such as ENGINE changeout that need to be done at specific hour interval;
Senario Activities are to be associated with the various asset levels (e.g KR2-TRH004-ENG-TBO)
Question: 1 Can we use the Source Meter KR2-TRH004.M001 as "Base Meter" for the schedule; and
Use one schedule KR2-TRH004.S003 for the whole truck
- IF we use parent meter ("Source Meter") for the "Base Meter" within the Schedule, will the Child Meters ("Meter")still be used for Scheduling (i.e in the case when the Component/Sub-Component has been changed out - outside schedule/interval multiple)
- How does ORACLE use meters for scheduling; and When do we select "Y" for "Used In Schedule"
We use ACTUAL END DATE for activities such as ENGINE changeout that need to be done at specific hour interval;
Senario Activities are to be associated with the various asset levels (e.g KR2-TRH004-TBO)
Question: 2 PLEASE NOTE: Senario 2 has INJ and ENG at same asset level to allow for suppressions;
Can we use use the Source Meter KR2-TRH004.M001 as "Base Meter"; and
Use one schedule KR2-TRH004.S003

Question: 1.1 Can we use use the Source Meter KR2-TRH004.M001 as "Base Meter"; and
Use one schedule KR2-TRH004.S003
- IF we cannot use Parent (Source Meter) for Schedule, will we need to do schedule for each meter (Children)
