2. Ifa says that you are an Apetebi. You need to uphold Ifa and be more

you are not, your husband needs to be initiated into Ifa. By so doing, you
will become a happy and proud mother of your children. You are however
advised to offer ebo with 4 rats, 4 fish, 16 tubers of yam, one she-
goat and money. You also need to feed Ifa with the she-goat. On this

3. Ifa says that you are naturally a wife of Ifa. You need to be more
devoted to Ifa as Ifa in return will bless you with good children, protect
the children and lead them aright. It is only through your devotion,
service and worship of Ifa that all your desires and especially your
prayers with regard to the issue of your children can be answered by Ifa.
You however need to offer ebo with 2 hens, 2 rats, 2 fish and money.
Thereafter, you will serve Ifa with each of the items for the ebo. On this,

4 Ifa advises you not to divorce your spouse or allow him to be
seduced by another woman. If you allow this, he and his new

5 Ifa advises you not to escort or see off visitors beyond the frontage
of your house whenever they come to visit you. Ifa says that there
is a particular Ire that is forthcoming and you must heed the advice
so that the Ire is not taken over by the visitor. You need to offer

7. Ifa advises you to exercise a lot of patience with regard to success

and accomplishment. Ifa says that you should not jump on the
bandwagon or hustle along with others. With patience, focus,
determination and of course ebo, you will succeed more than
others. Ifa also advises you not to compete with others. You will
succeed where others have failed. On this, Ifa says:

A gong cannot be sounded in heaven
For the sound to be heard on earth

For the sound to be heard in heaven
These were Ifa’s declarations to Orunmila
When going to war along with 401 Irunmole
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Ifa, please, be patient
Edu, please patience is the watchword
Whoever is patient is guaranteed of financial success
Whoever is patient is guaranteed of a good spouse
Whoever is patient is guaranteed of children
Whoever is patient is guaranteed of all Ire in life
Whoever is patient is guaranteed of a victorious battle

In the stanza above, all the 401 Irunmole decided to go to war. Orunmila
went for Ifa consultation and was advised to be patient; that he should
not go along on the same day with them. Orunmila complied. By the time
he went to war, all the other Irunmole had already conquered and had
taken all the spoils of war with almost nothing left. Orunmila wondered
what on earth would be his own loot. Suddenly he saw an old woman
sitting under a tree. This old woman had been left behind because the
Irunmole believed that she was of no value or use to them. While,
Orunmila kept pondering, Esu Odara appeared and advised him to take
the old woman home as his own spoil of war. On getting home, he took
care of the old woman, gave her food, clothed her and accommodated
her.

After a while, the woman asked Orunmila whether he knew her name.
Orunmila replied that he did not know her name. She told Orunmila that
her name was Suuru, Patience, and that all her children had been
captured by the warlords. They were Aje, financial deity; okun, beads;
ide, brass; Ologinniginni aso Irada, valuable clothing materials from Irada
land, etc. She said that they would all come back to her.

One day, Ogun’s household broke into chaos, everything seemed upside
down. He went to Orunmila’s house for Ifa consultation and he was
advised to offer his loot from the war as ebo. When he brought Aje that
he had captured in war, Aje saw her mother in Orunmila’s house and
decided to stay with her. Other Irunmole too had one form of problem or
the other that led them to consult Ifa at Orunmila’s house. They too were
advised to bring their loots from the war as ebo if ever they wanted
peace and calm in their households. They complied and all their loots
automatically became Orunmila’s. This was how the children of the old
woman came back to live with Orunmila and he became prosperous
thereafter.

8. Ifa says that you will not experience want in your life. That all your
hardship and wants in life shall end and then be replaced with
comfort and wealth. In this wise, you need to offer ebo with 2
pigeons, 2 guinea fowls, 2 roosters, 1 she-goat, and money.
The she-goat will used to feed Ifa. On this, Ifa says:

Sin mi titi lawo sin mi titi

Sin mi jinna lawo sin mi jinna
O o le sinmi titi
Ko o sin mi jinna
Koo ba mi dele Irosun to won nifa
Dia fun Orunmila
Baba nsunkun oun o laje lowo
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se

When in the midst of adversities and financial hardship
He was advised to offer ebo

I have not seen Ifa that had accurately come to pass like

9. Ifa says that it foresees prosperity for you. You will become very
successful, popular and honorable the world over. Ifa advises you
to offer ebo with two bundles of white clothe, four guinea-
fowl, four pigeons and money. On this, Ifa says:

Dia fun Osupa kirimu
Ti yoo joye Oluorodo
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se
O gb’ebo, o ru’bo
Ng o la nile o
Ng o la loko
Emi o toko la wale

Translation
I will succeed at home
And I will succeed in the farm
Ifa’s message for the full moon
When going to be conferred with the title of illuminator
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Now I will succeed at home
 And I will succeed in the farm
I will succeed from the farm to my home

10. Ifa advises you to offer ebo of matrimonial stability. There is also a
woman close to you who needs to desist from her waywardness.
Ifa also advises a man close to you to offer ebo in order to receive
the blessing of a compatible spouse. The ebo materials for the
woman are two guinea-fowls, two pigeons and money. The
ebo materials for the man are two roosters, two hens and
money.

11. Ifa advises you to prepare an Egungun costume for a young boy in
order to prevent him from experiencing premature death. There is
also the need to offer ebo and initiate the boy into Ifa. Ebo
materials here are three roosters, three guinea-fowls, three
hens and money. On this, Ifa says:

Igbo perewu
Odan perewu
Dia fun Alaran-an Oyikiti
Omo ayikiti wonu aso
Won ni ko rubo
O koti ogbonyin sebo
Alaran-an Oyikiti folojo saisi o
E o rifa tin se looro gangan o

Translation
The wide forest expanse

They cast Ifa for Alaran-an Oyikiti
He who rode into an Egungun costume
He was advised to offer ebo against untimely death

Alaran-an Oyikiti experienced premature death

12. Ifa advises a woman close to you to offer ebo in order for her to be
able to have a husband in her life. This woman is too wayward and
her promiscuity is going to cause a big commotion in the
community. Ifa also advises a man who is interested in this woman
to be very cautious lest he meets his untimely death in the hands of
this woman. Ebo materials: three roosters, three hens and
money. On this, Ifa says:

13. Ifa says that it foresees the ire of victory for you. You will
overcome all your enemies. Ifa advises you to offer ebo with one
matured ram and money. You also need to feed Sango with
land tortoises. On this, Ifa says:

Jenrola omo arigba ota segun
Eyi ti yoo firi wowo sete

14. Ifa says that if you are riding a car, motorcycle, lorry or climbing
ladder, scaffolding and so on, there is the need for you not to touch
these things for at least seven days in order for you not to be
involved in a terrible accident together with these things. You need
to observe this warning every year during the anniversary of your
initiation ceremony. Ifa advises you to offer ebo with one
matured he-goat and money. You also need to feed Ogun with
one matured dog, one rooster, plenty of palmwine, raffia
palm wine, roasted corn, roasted yam, liquor and palm-oil.
On this, Ifa says:

business trip, you need to offer ebo with four pigeons and
money. You also need to feed Ifa as appropriate.
