Dear Families,
We are excited to hear about the adventures of
your child’s Jelly Bean. Your child will use the
enclosed “Jelly Bean Journal” to record some of the
adventures that he/she has with his/her jelly bean
while on spring break. Will your child’s jelly bean be
going out of town or staying close to home? Might
the jelly bean go visit family or friends? Maybe he
or she will go on other types of outings or maybe
just enjoy a relaxing week playing at home. You
and your child can take pictures of the jelly bean
on the adventures and paste them into the journal
or your child can simply add his/her own
illustrations. We are looking forward to reading all
about Jelly Bean’s adventures when we return after
spring break!

Jelly Bean Example:

Trace the jelly bean stencil onto different colored

construction paper. Allow students to cut out the jelly
bean and use other construction paper scraps to design
his/her jelly bean. Laminate for durability.
