It is my pleasure to recommend Ms. Hayley Haines for a teaching position in your school. Hayley completed
her sixteen-week student teaching assignment in my kindergarten classroom. Ms. Haines is a friendly
individual who genuinely likes children and enjoys helping them learn. Hayley’s presence at Ridgeview
Elementary School was welcomed by the children, the parents and the staff. She made everyone feel that she
was a team player and interested in the success of every child. The children liked Ms. Haines because she was
quick with praise and encouraged all their efforts.

Hayley arranged the classroom to provide a good learning environment, keeping in mind the safety and
comfort of the children. She involved her students in planning and decision making and provided classroom
freedom in relation to the students’ ability to accept responsibility. Ms. Haines planned lessons that were
creative, developmentally appropriate and challenging while meeting the Illinois Learning Standards that are
required. Ms. Haines is efficient, hard-working and organized. She displays excellent communication skills
with co-workers, parents and children. Last, but not least, Hayley is flexible. She works well with parents, co-
workers and the IEP Team members to make necessary changes in her classroom/curriculum to better help
children.

Ms. Haines goes above and beyond in many ways. She is always there to help a co-worker, a parent or a
student. Hayley helped plan and implement several new units in our kindergarten curriculum. She found fun
and innovative centers, planned activities including STEM activities and chose a variety of books to go along
with our topics. Hayley completed informal and formal assessments with the students to determine growth or
the need for reteaching/interventions. She is continually on the lookout for new and innovative ideas to use
in her classroom.

I would highly recommend Ms. Hayley Haines for employment and feel that she will be a positive asset to your
