School rules and regulations are made to be complied with. Its main purpose is to maintain
discipline, peace and order inside the campus. They are made by the authorites not only for
themselves, but also for the students. This study aims to identify the extent of compliance among
students nurses in selected nursing colleges in Metro Manila to the rules and regulations of their
own university/school. It also aims to investigate the different factors that contribute to the
compliance of these students to school policies. Promoting discipline among student nurses is the
primary motivation of the researcher in undertaking this study. To determine the extent of

information levels, opinions, attitudes, beliefs, ideas, feelings and perceptions of the respondents.
The statistical technique used for the treatment of data included percentage and
frequency counts, ranking, weighted mean or average, and Pearson Moment Product Correlation.
The researcher aimed to identify contributing factors to compliance of the student nurses

ABSTRACT:
The aim of the study was to analyze the correlations between continuing professional
education and eleven core competencies of staff nurses n selected tertiary hospitals in Metro
Manila, in a hope to offer significant enhancement plan for the staff development of the nursing
service.
The participants are composed of 220 students nurses from selected government and
private hospitals in Metro Manila. the sampling technique used by the researcher was the
