I. OBJECTIVES
 Describe musical elements given in Baroque music (MU9MRB –Ib-F-5)
 Listens perceptively to selected instrumental music of Baroque period. (MU9MRB-Ia-h-1)
Subtask : Composers of the Baroque period on Concerto, Fugue, Oratorio and Chorale genres
of music
II. SUBJECT MATTER
a. Topic : Music of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque period
b. References : Music and Arts in Grade 9
c. Materials : Laptop and textbooks
III. PROCEDURE

 Let the students read basic concepts about western culture influence.
A. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
 Ask students about the different musical forms that had exist during the
different periods of western culture.
2. Analysis
 What was the activity all about ?
 What have you observed?
3. Abstraction
 What factors are presented in the making of various musical forms during
this period?
 Identify characteristics of common songs/ music forms during the Baroque
period.
Have the students listen to the different music genres of Baroque music.
 After listening: How were the music used during this period? What was the
relevance of these music towards the culture of western Europe?
 What benefits can one derive from knowing some of these music genres of
baroque period?
4. Application
 Group the students accordingly and let them look/identify for other songs
which were originally composed during the Baroque period. It could have
been used as background music in certain movies, commercial and other
media purposes.
 What important influences was made or passed on by western people in
relation to music culture?
IV. EVALUATION
 What important influences was made or passed on by these western people?
 What are the insights you have successfully learned throughout the lesson?
