Career narrative

My high school career is dental assisting, it helped me prepare for my E by giving me an

opportunity that i wouldn't have received by going to my home school. My chemistry teacher

Mr.Pate and his class also had an impact for me to choose the career I plan on doing after high

school. One activity that helped me for my career was going job shadowing at Aspen Dental

office in Niles,Oh. The employes at the office showed me a great experience for what I want to

do in my future, they also told me to strive for the career I want to do because it is a great job

and could take me far if i put forth the effort.

After high school I plan on going back to school for Criminal justice. My plan for going

back to school for criminal justice is to learn about the justice system because it is very

interesting to me and i've always been intrigued with the criminal justice. I want to work my way

up to becoming a Odontologist, that is a person who identify dead people by their teeth or dental

records. I know the classes i would have to take while i am in college is criminal justice classes

of course. Also i would have to take a science that would go with my course. My plan after

graduating college is that i hope to have a job in the criminal justice field and maybe go back to

school to improve my knowledge even more.

If I were to graduate college, my goal would be to leave college with an bachelor's

degree. Then I plan on leaving college getting a job in the criminal justice field that will hopefully

advance me to finding a odontologist job or even more advance job in the field. I plan on moving

to a bigger city because bigger cities have more opportunities for jobs that I'm working towards.

If my years after college are successful than i might consider going back to school to further

education. I also would love to work towards being my own boss and not having to work for

anyone else.
 My backup plan would be if I wasn’t to find a job in the criminal justice field right

away I would continue my path with dental assisting until I work myself up to where I

wanted to be. I would already have the materials to work in the dental field so I wouldn’t

have a hard time finding a job in that field as others would whom didn’t. My plan would

still be to go back to school for criminal justice and graduate with that degree under my

belt, and if I am working at a good dental office some of them will pay for you to go back

to school. Going with my backup plan may be a good choice because as I am working I

could be searching for jobs in the criminal justice field while working and making money

in another field which would look good to employers.

My overall plan is to be successful in whatever I choose to do whether it’s college

and working. I feel as if i will be successful because I came to TCTC and got the

opportunity to have dental assisting under my belt as soon as I graduate. Coming to this

school gave me the chance to figure out what i wanted my E to be after i graduate and

while I am out furthering my education in the future.
