■ INTRODUCTION
As per the directive of the State Government (Education
Department), CEPT University has been asked to co-ordinate
the State Architecture Admissions in Gujarat (SAAG-2009) and
prepare merit list. Information for aptitude tests, bulletin and
application form are available from 10.00 a.m. onwards,
Monday, 21st May, 2009 on payment of Rs. 500/- (non
refundable) cash or demand draft in favour of School of
Architecture, payable on a nationalised bank at Ahmedabad.
SAAG information brochure can also be downloaded from CEPT
website http://www.cept.ac.in.
Last date & time for receipt of completed Application Form is
4.00 p.m., Monday 22.06.2009 at Ahmedabad only.
National Aptitude Test in Architecture score (NATA) is mandatory
for Admission to First year of Bachelor of Architecture Programs.
The score for the NATA test may be submitted along with the
application or can be submitted to CEPT Office latest by 22nd
June, 2009 by 4.00 pm. Applications received after due date &
time stand automatically rejected.
■ ADMISSIONS
All admissions including displaced students from J&K, are given
by the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State. CEPT
is only responsible for the declaration of merit list. Applicants are
advised to read the brochure carefully and comply with
instructions in their own interest.
Reserve category candidates must submit status claiming
certificate from the competent authorities only. SEBC candidates
must produce "not forming part of creamy layer certificate of the
current year", issued by the competent authorities only.
Reservations for SC/ST/SEBC/PHY.H/ Wards of Servicemen Ex-
servicemen (Gujarat origin only) are as per the Gujarat
government norms, laid down from time to time. Ex-servicemen
of other states settled in Gujarat and who produce domicile
certificate of stay for 10 years or more are not eligible for
supernumerary seat (s), which are available for wards of ex-
servicemen of Gujarat origin.
Management quota admissions will be decided by the Institute
concerned but candidates should have appeared at NATA and
must have Merit Number.
■ GENERAL INFORMATION
Minimum Qualifications to apply for admission to First Year
Bachelor of Architecture
(a) Candidates passing XII Standard Higher Secondary
Certificate Examination of Gujarat State (or its equivalent) with
Mathematics *** as compulsory subject securing a minimum
aggregate score of 50% for all subjects including practicals
Or
(b) Candidates from Gujarat having passed 10+2 Pattern
examination from CBSE or other boards with Mathematics ***
as compulsory subject securing a minimum aggregate score of
50% for all subjects including practicals
Or
(c) Candidates from outside Gujarat having passed from any
board equivalent to HSC Gujarat with Mathematics *** as
compulsory subject securing a minimum aggregate score of
50% for all subjects including practicals
Or
(d) 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central / State
Governments with 50% marks in aggregate.
Or
(e) International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of
schooling with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with
Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
Or
(f) F.Y.B.Sc. Candidates (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
subjects (only from any University in Gujarat State) who have
passed H.S.C. examination and have passed F.Y.B.Sc., the
qualifying examination in single sitting during Oct 2007 or March
2008 with at least 50% marks in the theory papers without ATKT
as per the prevailing State Government Norm . (Only two Seats
are available at M S University, Vadodara )
*** AS PER RECENT CLARIFICATION FROM COUNCIL OF
ARCHITECTURE equivalent examination under Arts,
Commerce and other streams having nomenclature such as
"Business Mathematics" Or "Statistics" shall be considered
eligible for Admission
NOTE:
For SC, ST, and SEBC candidates the minimum eligible
aggregate score is 45% in the above said examinations.
Candidates awaiting results may apply, such candidates have to
produce a certificate from the Principal of the school/college that
he/she has appeared in the qualifying examination (any of the
above) with compulsory subject/s mentioned. Such candidates
must submit the final mark sheet including rechecked results
and satisfy the minimum requirements by 4.00 P.M., Monday,
22.06.2009, failing which their candidature will not be
considered and their names will be removed while displaying
final merit orders. In all the cases the aggregate will be
calculated based on all the subjects including languages,
optional & practical etc. Failure in any subject disqualifies the
candidature.
(g) Those candidates who have less marks, than specified and
have applied for rechecking / reassessment shall produce the
rechecked results by 4.00 p.m Monday, 22nd June, 2009.
Those who fail to obtain the requisite marks will be rejected and
their names removed while displaying the final merit list.
(h) Applicants having qualifications other than that shown in
Paras (a) (b) (c) (d)(e)& (f) above will have to submit along with
the application, an eligibility certificate stating that he /she
iseligible for admission to first semester engineering course of a
University in Gujarat if the required qualification is not from a
known board.

(i) Reservations of seats including seats for those from other
states will be made as per the decisions of the Gujarat
Government. One seat each over and above the intake capacity
is available for displaced students of J & K in MSU & CEPT.
(j) All other conditions laid down for Engineering Admissions
shall also apply where applicable.
(k) The Candidates must submit the attested copies of the
following documents. However, certificates in original must be
produced when admissions are offered:-
● HSC or Equivalent Mark sheet.
● NATA Score
● School Leaving Certificate / Migration /Transfer Certificate
/Indian Pass Port to ascertain Indian Nationality if born in any
country other than India.
● To claim Reservations candidates must produce
appropriate certificate issued by the competent authority only.

Fraudulent production of any document(s) revealed at any
stage disqualifies the candidature.
● Any Candidate who has already been given admission by the
Central Admission Cell (Architecture) in any of the previous years,
in any of the Architecture Institutions, is not eligible to apply.

APTITUDE TEST SCHEME
Admission shall be subject to passing of National Aptitude Test
in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the CoA. The minimum
passing score for NATA is 80 out of 200 for all categories of
candidates. There is no relaxation in the minimum passing score
of NATA to any category of candidates. NATA test can be given
at your nearest NATA TEST Centre. For more details on NATA

The merit order will be prepared based on the valid NATA score and
marks secured in the qualifying examination in the ratio of 50:50
50% of Aggregate Score of HSC/Qualifying Exam

DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS
Detailed Distribution of Seats will be announced at the time of
admission Interview (01 - 07 - 2009)
PAYMENT OF FEES
On announcement of the Merit List, successful candidates will
be offered admission in the order of merit on the date of
admission. The candidates admitted shall pay the prescribed
fees immediately at the place of interview to the representative
of respective institution. The choice made is irrevocable.
Failure to produce required Fees will result in withdrawal of
admission & the same will be offered to the next candidate on
the merit.
REFUND OF FEES
Once admitted, no fees will be refunded for cancellation of
admission except in case of those candidates officially
transferred by the Central Admission Cell. Students remaining
absent for 15 days or more after the date intimated will forfeit
their admission and the fees will not be refunded. In the event of
a student/candidate withdrawing before the starting of the
course, the wait listed candidates shall be given admissions
against the vacant seat. The entire fee collected from the
student, after a deduction of a processing fee, shall be refunded
by the institution concerned.

INTRODUCTION
The Department of Architecture is one of the oldest departments
of the Faculty of Technology & Engineering. The Kalabhavan
Technical Institute of erstwhile Baroda State conducted a Four
year diploma in architecture in pre-independence days. With the
formation of the M.S.University of Baroda in 1949, these
courses were taken over by the University and Kalabhavan was
transformed into the Faculty of Technology and Engineering.
Architecture became one of its five departments at that time.
Subsequently the diploma course was replaced by ten semester
degree course, which confirms with the recommendations of
Council of Architecture.
COURSES
Department offers ten semesters course in architecture leading
to the degree of B Arch. The Department offers various subjects
such as Architectural Design, Urban Design, Urban Planning,
Climatology, Building Construction etc. The department has a
proposal to start a Master's Course in City Planning.
THRUST AREAS
The Department has identified Urban Design, Low cost Housing,
Earthquake resistant efficient architecture and sustainable
design practice and energy.
MAJOR LABORATORIES AND EQUIPMENTS.
Department has five well equipped drawing studios and one
basic design studio. Further facilities for Audiovisual
presentation, Overhead Projectors, LCD projection etc are
available at Department level. This department also shares
laboratories with Civil Engg, Mech Engg, Electrical Engg
departments of Faculty of Technology & Engg..

RESEARCH
The Department is engaged in consultancy work with various
authorities such as VUDA, Baroda Municipal Corporation
(BMC), Department of Gujarat Police, Traffic division, Lions club,
and other faculties within the university. The following projects
have been taken up in the last five year.

2. Extension to Sanskrit
3. CASE Buildings
4. Traffic circles in Baroda for Lion Club/Baroda Municipal
Corporation
5. Convocation Ground, The M.S.University of Baroda,
Vadodara.

Hostel facilities for Boys & Girls are available at the University
Hostels. Charges are as per University regulation.

INTRODUCTION
Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) is a
leading institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate
programmes in the areas of natural and built environment and
related disciplines.
CEPT University aspires not only to train competent technocrats
but also in increasing students' sensitivity to the emotional,
spiritual & aesthetic dimensions. The students are also equipped
to understand the complex societal forces that would
increasingly bear on when they begin their professional life and
to cope with them successfully.
Under CEPT University Faculty of Architecture offers Under
Graduate Programme in Architecture of 5 yrs duration leading to
B.Arch. Degree and various Post Graduate Programmes as well
as a Doctoral Programme.
CEPT campus covering about nine acres is in the vicinity of
prestigious educational institutions in Arts, Science, Commerce,
Pharmacy, Management and Computer Applications. Other
institutions housed on the campus are Vikram Sarabhai
Community Science Centre, Kanoria Centre for Arts,
Hutheesingh Visual Arts Centre and the Amdavadni Gufa. The
Ahmedabad Education Society has allotted another twenty- five
acres of land in the vicinity.
RECOGNITION
All of its academic programmes are approved by the State
Government, COA and AICTE and are recognized nationally and
internationally for their excellence. CEPT has highly qualified
faculty known for its contributions in academics and research. .

LIBRARY
CEPT Library houses more than 36000 books, technical videos,
& teaching materials in the subjects of Architecture, Construction
Technology & Management, Landscape, Urban & Regional
Planning, Environmental Design, Civil Engineering, Interior
Design, Urban Design, Visual Art, Humanities etc. Besides the
library has Inter-Library Books Loan arrangements being
member of INFLIBINET with some reputed institutions in the city.
The library subscribes to about 99 periodicals. The Library
operations are Computerized to facilitate normal maintenance
functions as well as search & retrieval of books. The library is
open for nearly fourteen hours a day and 7 days a week.
LABORATORIES & WORKSHOPS
The School has many Laboratories Including Computer, Material
Testing Structural, Surveying, Environmental Science,
Photography and Documentation, and Wood Metal Sculpture
and Ceramic Workshops.
HOSTELS
Limited accommodation is available for full time Male and
Female Students studying at CEPT.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Kshitij Jain Scholarship amounting to Rs. 25,000/- per year
will be available to one student joining the first year at Faculty of
Architecture, CEPT University. The recipient will be decided on
the basis of need (which will have to be proved by evidence as
may be decided by the CEPT authorities) and academic merit.
The selected recipient will be entitled to a sum of Rs. 25000
every year for the duration of 5 year course provided a good
academic record is maintained. Those wishing to apply for this
scholarship may approach CEPT authorities after the completion
of the counselling process.

INTRODUCTION
D.C. Patel School of Architecture at Arvindbhai Patel Institute of
Environmental Design has the distinction of being the first Self-
financed College in State of Gujarat. It was established by the
Parisar Trust in 1980 at Vadodara and later shifted to Vallabh
Vidyanagar in 1984 under the aegis of Charutar Vidya Mandal,
Vallabh Vidyanagar (Gujarat). It has celebrated its Silver Jubilee
Year recently.
It is placed within the serene and congenial educational
environment of Vallabh Vidyanagar. Designed by the Late Hon.

Director Ar. Suryakant Patel, the campus was envisioned as an
extension of Nature with open spaces and natural landscapes,

The School offers Full-time Five Years (10 Semesters) Bachelor
of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree course and is affiliated to Sardar

Over and above 5500 titles of Books, the Library has a good
collection of National & International Journals, Video Cassettes,
CDs, Slides and Thesis Reports in subjects of Architectural

Arts, Interior Design, etc. full-fledged Computerization of Library
is under works currently. In addition to the School Library,
reading facilities are also available at S.P. University.
LABORATORIES AND WORKSHOPS
Computer Lab facilities comprise of 50 PCs Networked; with a
wide range of Software along with facilities for Scanning,
Digitizing, Printing and Interned surfing. The School has its
own full-fledged Workshop for studies in Basic Design &
relevant applied Arts including facilities for Ceramic and Pottery;
Wood and Sculpture making etc. The School has an
Environmental Lab with instruments and working models for
conducting environmental studies in climatology, acoustics, etc.
A well-equipped Structural lab displaying working structural
models for teaching various concepts of structures is a part of
the School. A well furnished Material Museum has also been
recently coordinated.
Additional facilities such as well-equipped air-conditioned Audio-
Visual Hall, Auditorium, Exhibition Room and Documentation
and Research Cell are also available at the Institute.
HOSTELS
Hostel accommodation is available in the Charutar Vidhya
Mandal Hostels on first cum first basis. However private Hostels

SCET Architecture Department has an intake of 80 students (40
+ 40 ) per year & students shall be taught in two batches of 40
students each with staggered timings.
INTRODUCTION
Surat city has a very enthusiastic clientele for architecture but
there was a simultaneous insensitivity amongst them about the
qualitative aspects of the built environment. This led a group of
professionals to form a trust with an aim of creating awareness
among the people about the profession. A simultaneous attempt
was made to start an institution for future architects.
In today's scenario of a confused situation among the
architectural fraternity related to dilemmas of style, ever
changing technology, societal aspirations, the integrated
approach adopted by our institution strives to strike a balance
among various factors.
The Faculty of Architecture, SCET offers full time COA approved
10 Semester (5 years) course in architecture, leading to a
degree of B.Arch. The syllabus is based on the norms laid down
by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi.
MISSION OF THE SCHOOL
To create Architectural professionals who are sensitive to today's
demands of ever increasing complexity of society, changing
technology, environmental pressures including the physical and
cultural connotation.
BROAD OBJECTIVES
The curriculum intends to train the students to observe and learn
from their surroundings, interpret the there acquired knowledge
through various skills and express it in their physical solutions
for a qualitative living environment.
RECOGNITION & AFFILIATION
The B. Arch Degree is recognised by the council of Architecture,
New Delhi (India) and is awarded by the Veer Narmad South
Gujarat University with which SCET is affiliated.
LIBRARY
A fully computerized Central Library operating on a twelve -
hours basis is equipped with latest books and magazines on all
aspects of Architecture and general issues. Besides, the Faculty
has its own separate departmental library containing rare books,
institutional works, thesis, journals, etc. apart from a creditable
multimedia collection.
LABORATORIES & WORKSHOPS
SCET Cyber Cafe offers Inter net facilities to the students for
extended hours and is available to students at concession. The
Faculty of Architecture has a separate Computer Centre of its
own with all recent Software of Architecture, along with the
peripherals like plotter, scanners, printers, etc. The Faculty is
equipped with laboratories and workshops for material testing,
surveying, model making, carpentry and smithy; as well as a
construction yard for full - scale model execution.

The faculty is also equipped with an environmental lab for
conducting tests related to climatology. A well - furnished
material museum is available for the students to keep in touch
with the latest materials and technology. The faculty also has an
exclusive air - conditioned jury room, equipped with the state-of -
the - art audio - visual aids.
HOSTELS
Limited accommodation is available, separately for the Boys and
Girls, in the hostels of the Sarvajanik Education Society and the
arrangements are being made to accommodate them in the
private apartments, for which prevalent rents are to be paid by
the students.

MISSION STATEMENT
IPSA firmly believes that to engender a responsible intervention,
when envisioning change in the built Environment and whilst

issues of sustainability. IPSA also enables professionals with

BACKGROUND
The Vyavasayi Vidya Pratishthan (VVP) Trust is set up under
aegis of Rajkot Nagrik Sahakari Bank Ltd., to promote quality
education in various technical fields. Both names are renowned
in the region for trust and vision, and their commitment to the
country's future through enabling its youth is firm. The Trust
conducts four years degree programs in six streams of
engineering, a three years program in Education, and the five
years full time undergraduate program in Architecture
AFFILIATION
The School is affiliated to the established Saurashtra University,
and awards an undergraduate Degree in Architecture. The
School, and its course are recognized by Council of
Architecture, New Delhi and All India Council for Technical

CAMPUS
The VVP Trust has a beautiful 35 acre campus on Kalawad
Road, about 5 km. Outside Rajkot, and the School of

individual lecture spaces for instruction. A constantly growing
Library with over 3000 titles, 22 subscribed journals and
periodicals, and other e-resources. A full-fledged Computer
Room with ample and printing facilities. The School shares
many Workshops and material testing Laboratories with its
neighboring engineering campus fostering good bi-lateral
relations. With completion of second phase of architectural
campus it is ready to house numerous facilities like resource
center, Structural and Environmental laboratory. It also has
space for art gallery that will double up as display for best of
work done by students and other related study programs and
Electives.
A Canteen serves hygienic snacks and meals during all working
hours and on special occasions. The School helps organizing
Hostel facilities for students in the city and near the campus,
with their own rules of conduct and discipline.

INTRODUCTION
The College of Architecture, SVIT, Vasad is within commuting

established technical Institute (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute
of Technology) affiliated to the Gujarat University imparting
education in various technical disciplines.
RECOGNITION AND AFFILIATION
The College of Architecture, now in its Ninth year has been
approved by the Council of Architecture, for conducting
undergraduate courses in Architecture, Interior Design and
Building Construction Technology.
We offer these specialties such as Interior Design and Building
Construction Technology as part of an Architectural Curriculum
that trains the students to become professional architects with
specialized abilities.

HOSTELS
While Vasad is well connected with adequate Bus and Train
services, the College also has a number of buses coming daily
from Vadodara, Anand and Ahmedabad for bringing students
from these places. For those who want to stay in hostels, there
are local private hostels with good facilities at Vasad itself as
well as numerous hostels in Anand and Vadodara. These is a
separate hostel for girls in Vasad itself.
FEES AND DEPOSITS

The INSTITUTION
School of Architecture - Vadodara Design Academy is an unique
teaching-learning initiative towards a well thought of manifesto
relevant to people, place and time; for quality and value based
architecture & design education.
The campus is spreaded over 6.5 acre of lush green landscape
with modest architectural language expressing the strong
massage of learning center. It is set up and envisaged as an
architectural campus in a serene environment within the vicinity
of Vadodara city, is a part of the cultural capital of the state. The
academy is all set to create a center for design education with a
sense of direction to the manifesto focusing to basic knowledge
with wisdom of the past and modern global sense, in the area of
built environment & human habitat.
The CAMPUS
The 6.5 acre campus is planned to meet timely requirements of
studio, lecture rooms, audio visual rooms, workshops,
construction yard, library, computer labs,
material/structural/environment labs, canteen facility, cubical and
conference & seminar facilities.
The COURSE
School of Architecture, Vadodara Design Academy offers full
time five years ( 10 semesters ) Bachelor of Architecture
(B.Arch) in Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) in
Interior Design with an intake of 40 each, approved by the
Council of Architecture,New Delhi,India and affiliated to Gujarat
University, Ahmedabad.
The FACULTY
VDA has highly qualified, experienced and enthusiastic faculty
known for its contributions in academics, research and the
profession.
THE KNOWLEDGE CENTRE
The young VDA library is growing up with the pace of demand
and time. Apart from physical books, it has more than 1000
latest e-books in its shelves. Construction Material Information is
up to date by virtue of catalogues, samples and inventories.
THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SETUP
VDA computer lab is setup with an aim for state-of-art status.
VDA lab equipped with BIM platform having perpetual license of
Autodesk solution set and faculty & students are privileged to
have free license of Autodesk software & access to its education
portal. Being partner to ECOIII project sponsored by USAID &
supported by BEE-INDIA, VDA lab is all set to Building
Performance & Energy simulation setup through Design
Builders, Ecotect etc. softwares.
FEES & DEPOSITS :Tuition Fees: Rs.40,000 per Annum
Caution Money: Rs.10,000 Refundable (Non-interst bearing)
only after successful completion of the course.
HOSTEL
Separate Hostel facilities for boys & girls are arranged in an
areas within the city center.
TRANSPORTATION
The school authority has arranged bus facility from the center of
the city to the campus, for the students.

Often in the textbooks of history, we come across the name of
Patan, mainly for its vivid cultural heritage and political
developments. For, as it was once the capital city of Gujarat and
as it is the place which has survived ancient method of weaving
cloth-'The Patola' it has much more. It is a place of Queen's
Step well - 'Rani Ki Vav' and water reservoir - 'Sahastralinga
Talav'. It is also a place of numerous tombs and Jinalayas and
place with a number of vaulted city gates in wall encircling the
city. It is also a place which has a rich archive of hundreds of
invaluable manuscripts of last many bygone eras.
It is in this historic, iconic city of Patan, that the
Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University was founded in
1986. Today it has outgrown into all encompassing, well planned
centre for study in several disciplines, here within its well
structured and pleasant ambience. In 2008, 'Institute of
Architecture' emerged. It is a government grant-in-aid College,
approved by 'Council of Architecture' (a national level statutory
body), Govt. of Gujarat & AICTE. This is the eighth college
conducting the degree course in Architecture in Gujarat State.
The 5 year degree course is segmented into total 10 semesters.
FEES & DEPOSITS: Tuition and other fees- Rs. 15,000/- per
semester.Caution money deposit-Rs. 5000/-Once only.
Refundable (without interest) on successful completion of
course.
