5) COMPANY OPERATION PROCESS

Batch processing is one of the initial steps of the glass-making process. The batch house
simply houses the raw materials in large silos (fed by truck or railcar) and holds anywhere from
1–5 days of material. Some batch systems include material processing such as raw material
screening/sieve, drying, or pre-heating. Whether automated or manual, the batch house measures,
assembles, mixes, and delivers the glass raw material recipe (batch) via an array of chutes,
conveyors, and scales to the furnace. The batch enters the furnace at the 'dog house' or 'batch
charger'. Different glass types, colours, desired quality, raw material purity / availability, and
furnace design will affect the batch recipe.

5.1 Float Glass

Float glass is made by melting of such materials as high-quality quartz s- and stone
powder, sodium carbonate and dolomite under high temperature in the melting furnace to
produce glass liquid which then forms a glass strip.

Process of Automobile glass:

For tempered glass for automobiles, glass is heated until its temperature gets near the
softening point and then cooled quickly to get the surface of glass to produce prestress layer on
the surface of glass and produce tensile stress inside it, so as to improve the strength of glass.
The company can manufacture tempered glass with different thickness such as 3.2mm, 3.5mm,
4.0mm, 5.0mm and 6.0mm for automobile side doors, side windows, rear windows, etc.
