Weather diversion if not in contact with ATC
Note:
Climb or descend by 300 feet if you are diverting within 10nm. if
diversion distance is not given in question. better to take
diversion within 10nm so that there is no need to transmit
unnecessary and it will save lot of time.

In this above given transmission. we changed our

so applied changes according to the " semi-circular" Rule. please read
semi-circular rule for more details.

Standard instrument departure (SID) routes, also known as departure procedures (DP)
are published flight procedures followed by aircraft on an IFR flight plan immediately
after takeoff from an airport.
A SID is an air traffic control coded departure procedure that has been established at certain
airports to simplify clearance delivery procedures. SIDs are supposed to be easy to understand
and if possible limited to one page.
Types of SIDs
There are two main types of SIDs: Pilot-Nav SIDs and Vector SIDs.
A Pilot-Nav SID is a SID where the pilot is primarily responsible for navigation along the SID
route. They are established for airports where terrain and related safety factors dictate a specific
ground track be flown.
A Vector SID is used where ATC can provide radar navigational guidance to a filed/assigned
route or to a fix depicted on a SID. Flying a Vector SID may require flying an ODP (Obstacle
Departure Procedure) first. This is usually annotated in the ODP section stating, "Fly runway
heading to xxx prior to making any turns." Vector SIDs give ATC more control over air traffic
routing than do Pilot-Nav SIDs

Note: Do not Read-back the transmission from the chart or the given clearance, use standard phraseology after reading the
instructions from charts. As you can see in above transmission, the transmission is in standard form. you will surly wont get
any marks if it is a read back from the chart or clearance. Dont forget to transmit if you intercept any Radial and after you
established on that Radial.
Instructions will be given on chart or if not given, it will be given by examiner after you
Request for ATC clearance.
How to obtain ATC clearance ? for chart given above:
Don`t change your frequency from tower/in use freq. to next facility until asked
by tower/in use freq. no matter in what control area you are flying. But you can
request to switch freq. to next facility if control area is indicated as per given chart, else
continue with same freq. in use to give further compliance.

A STAR usually covers the phase of a flight that lies between the top of descent from cruise or
en-route flight and the final approach to a runway for landing.
A typical STAR consists of a set of starting points, called transitions, and a description of routes
(typically via VORs and intersections) from each of these transitions to a point near a destination
airport, upon reaching which the aircraft can join an instrument approach(IAP) or be vectored for
a final approach by terminal air traffic control. Not all airports have published STARs; however,
most relatively large or not easily accessible (for example, in a mountainous area) airports do.
Sometimes several airports in the same area share a single STAR; in such case, aircraft destined
for any of the airports in such group follow the same arrival route up until reaching the final
waypoint, after which they join approaches for their respective destination airports.
Standard Terminal Arrival Route(s) (STAR`s)

The DME arc is a procedure used to transition from the enroute environment to an instrument
approach.
The DME arc is intercepted while flying towards or away from a VORTAC or VOR/DME station. Usually a 90°
turn is required to intercept a DME arc.
Avoid an over- or undershooting of the DME arc. The point of starting the turn (Lead Point) has to be plotted
according to the ground speed. A standard turn has to be maintained. With a ground speed of less than 150 KT,
1NM will do. The curve diameter is about 1% of the TAS, for example: 160 KT would be 1,6 NM.
Before crossing the Lead Point make sure the direction of the turn and the heading is plotted for the roll out.
During the turn the pilot has to maintain the CDI needle of the VOR in the center. If the CDI is centered and the
heading on the VOR indicates an abeam position: level out. If the DME distance is too short, turn to a heading
which is indicated in the lower part of the VOR instrument. Again this applies only if the CDI is centered. While
following a heading from the lower part of the VOR instrument, the plane will fly away from station. The DME
distance will increase since the plane flies away from the station.
If the DME distance is too big, turn to a heading which is indicated in the upper part of the VOR instrument. The
DME distance will decrease, since the plane flies towards the station.
If a heading is followed which shows on the VOR an abeam position, the DME indicating will not change. Again
this applies only if the CDI is centered. But if a heading from the upper part of the VOR instrument is maintained,
the plane will soon overshoot the required track. The indicated distance will increase. The CDI is maintained in
the center by constantly setting the OBS.
