This checklist is used daily to inspect a hoist. It contains checks of the mast, wire rope, cage, travel path, base enclosure, trailing power cable, controls, limit switches, cabin lights, certificates, and operator training. Checks include the condition, brakes, clearance, landing platform, rollers, resistor unit, safety devices, ties, and visual inspection of components. The operator and safety personnel must initial each day to verify all items were checked properly.

Cabin Lights
3rd party Certificate, Emergency contact Numbers, First
Aid box and Fire Extinguisher placed in cage. Drop Test
Operator Qualified & Trained
POST START CHECK
Brakes (Running car up and down)
Upper and lower limit switches working.
Sufficient clearance between cage and landing
platform in all landing areas.(Between 3 – 5 cm) Landing Platform.(Stable, guardrail, toe board, door locked, Access not obstructed) All rollers are working smoothly.(No abnormal sound, No vibration)
Resistor unit.(No overheating and Cooling fans are
working)
Safety Device. (No abnormal sound).
Visual inspection of ties, cathead and Sheaves.
