0.2S-Class current transformers (CTs) have better accuracy at low currents compared to standard 0.2-Class CTs. Both have a maximum error of ±0.2% at 100% and 120% of rated current. However, 0.2S-Class CTs have lower errors of ±0.75% at 1% load and ±0.35% at 5% load, while 0.2-Class CTs have higher errors of ±0.75% at 5% load. Standards introduced 0.2S-Class CTs for tariff metering due to their improved accuracy even at low loads.

Difference Between 0.2 & 0.2S Class Accuracy of CT & PT

However, 0.2S-Class CTs have lower errors of ±0.75% at 1% load and ±0.35% at 5% load, while 0.2-Class CTs have higher errors of ±0.75% at 5% load. 0.2S-Class is more accurate at low currents/load than 0.2-Class CT Both (0.2S-Class & 0.2-Class) have maximum errors of 0.2% at 100% and 120% of rated current. 0.2S-Class CT (These values are found in IEC Standard 60044, Tables 11 and 12.) 1) 0.2S-Class has 0.75% at 1% load/current. 2) 0.2S-Class has 0.35% at 5% load/current. 3) 0.2S-Class has 0.2% at 20% or more load/current. 0.2-Class CT (These values are found in IEC Standard 60044, Tables 11 and 12.) 1) 0.2-Class has 0.75% at 5% load/current. 2) 0.2-Class has 0.35% at 20% or more load/current. Standards have introduced 0.2S, for tariff metering purposes. These special CTS (0.2S-Class) guarantee the declared accuracy even at much lower load currents and are suitable for industries for tariff metering purposes, but some definite error can be defined even with a load as low as 1%. Different Accuracy Class PTS (For Measuring)
For Measuring Voltage Transformer, the accuracy class is designed by the highest permissible percentage voltage error at rated voltage and with rated burden prescribed for the accuracy class concerned. The standard accuracy class for Measuring Voltage Transformer shall be 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0 and 3.0 LIMITS OF VOLTAGE ERROR AND PHASE DISPLACEMENT The voltage error and phase displacement at rated frequency shall not exceed the value given below table at any voltage between 80% To 120% of rated voltage and of burden between 25% - 100% of rated burden at a power factor of 0.8 lagging.
