Abstract

Practical Training is an important constituent of any curriculum and the Engineering

courses is no exception to this general rule. A practical training helps a student in
getting acquainted with the manner in which his knowledge in being practically used
outside his institute and this is normally different from what he has learnt from books.
Hence when one switches from the process of learning to that of implementing his
knowledge he finds an abrupt change. This is exactly why Practical Training session
during the Engineering Curriculum becomes all the more important.

This report describes in detail about construction of residential building. The report
mainly covers all the process of the construction of residential building except
Foundation.

First part is focusing on the material used at the site and testing of material like
aggregate (both fine and coarse aggregate) test, bricks test, cement test, etc.
second part explain the step by step process of construction of building and last part
explain about the finishing work like foundation, plastering, brick work, casting etc.
Although lot of care has been taken but some errors might have come, hence I shall
appreciate if such errors are brought to my report.

Introduction
Industrial Training refers to a program which aims to provide supervised practical training within a
specified time frame. This training can be carried out either in government organisation or in private
sector.
This report has been written to familiarise the technique of three months of industrial training. I have
done training in Aecom india pvt ltd . Where the major construction was going on the housing building,
school, club house, shopping centre.
The pmc was appointed as the AECOM.
This building is constructed by SIMPLEX INFRASTRUCTURE LIMITED.

1.1 Aim: The main aim of the Industrial Training is to produce practical knowledge who is ready to
face the working world. The program will also equip students with real work experience. Placing
students in industry also increasers their chances of employment after diploma as there is a
strong possibility that they will be offered a job in the same place where they do their training.
Apart from this the training experience will further solidify the on-campus learning process and
activates, while also providing students with relevant work experience.

1.2 OBJECTIVE : The industrial Training project has five main objectives.
a) To give students the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in a
real-life work situation.
b) To provide students with opportunities for practical hands-on learning from practitioners in
the students’ field of study.
c) To give students work experience while they are studying their chosen subject.
d) To expose students to the work environment, common practices, employment
opportunities and work ethics in the relevant field.
e) To provide opportunities for students to be offered jobs in the same organization where
they undergo industrial training.
1.3 Scope.
These are the following scope in the building construction field
a) NEW CONSTRUCTION – New building (or structures) built from the ground up.
b) ADDITIONS – when new construction adds floor aarea (or covered area such as canopies or
shade structures) that is attached to an existing building.
c) ALTERATIONS – Any construction that modifies an existing building or structure without
adding new covered area. Modernizations, Upgrades, modifications and other projects of this
type are considered alterations by new construction. Note that Rehabilitation and fire
Reconstruction also meet the code definition of “alterations”; however, these special
categories are identified separately to facilitate special handling during plan review and
construction oversight.
