Edpuzzle- A Quick “How To” Guide for

Teachers
Signing up:
1. Signing up is easy and it’s FREE! Go to www.edpuzzle.com and
select Sign Up.....

2. Select “I’m a teacher” and the next screen will allow you to watch
videos that will help you to navigate your way around Edpuzzle. They’re
pretty snazzy and easy to follow so they are worth a look. You can
always click on Skip on the bottom Left hand corner, if you are the type
who likes to figure things out for yourself....

3. When the above screen appears, you just pop in your details and we
are ready to go. Use your Google account, preferably one that is linked
to your Google Classroom. Oh, and keep that Password safe!

Logging In

1. After you have created a new account, you can login anytime:

2. Log in as a teacher using your college Google Account

3. Your account will open up on this screen

Now you are ready to work with content!

To add Videos:

1. To add content from YouTube, Vimeo etc Go to the Search

Screen on the top of the screen and then click on YouTube in the
column to the left of your screen:

2. If you are using a YouTube clip that you already have the link to, you
can open up a new tab in Google and go to the YouTube video. Copy
the Share Link

3. Then go back to EdPuzzle and Paste the Youtube link into the Search
bar and click on Search:

4. Alternatively, you can search within EdPuzzle for a video by clicking

on the YouTube button on the left hand side of your screen and then
search.

5. When you’ve chosen your video or entered your link, the video will
open in a new window where you can make changes to it:

Now we are ready to Edit!

1. The scissor icon allows you to crop the video

2. The microphone icon allows you to do a complete voiceover on

the video, thereby erasing any audio on the video

This can be particularly useful if the video is in a different language (or

accent!), but the visuals are good!

3. The speaker icon allows you to add an audio track at any point on
the video. When you do this, as the student is watching the video, the
video will pause and they will listen to your audio note and then the video
will continue after you finish speaking! This one can be a bit “glitchy” so
“Buyer Beware”!!!!

4. The question mark icon allows you to input questions OR notes.

Again, as the student is watching the video, when they reach the part
where you have input a Q or a Note, the video will pause at this stage
and then they continue after they have answered the question or read
the note!

For the , you can do the following……

★ In this section, you can do so many things to carry out assessment

of and for learning, to extend activities, to challenge your students,
to prompt your students; to make the videos more applicable to
your subject/ context….. The possibilities are endless.

➔ This is really where Bloom's Taxonomy comes into play.

5. Make sure that you save your changes and then Finish!

When you click finish the following appears:

You can choose to assign it to a class on your Google Classroom, or

choose later and just have it in the My Content section. You can set a
due date and can choose to ensure that your students don’t skip by
clicking on “Prevent Skipping”!

If you choose to share with anyone, then you can get a link that you can
send by email, or you can embed it into a website or onto Moodle if you
are not using Google Classroom!
