1.0 Title of Experiment : -
Study of different types of Milling Machines.

Various metal cutting machine tools used in machine shop.
Knowledge of single point cutting tools.

3.0 New Concept: -


More material removed by a multipoint rotating cutter.
Up Milling and Down Milling process.

4.0 Learning Objectives: -


Intellectual skills
 To know construction and function of various parts of milling machine.
 To know specification of milling machine.
 To know special features of universal milling machine.
Note: - Workshop superintendent should show the available milling machine in the workshop to the
students & show the photographs/Leaflet/ Catalogue/ Posters supplied by the Manufacturers of the
other different types of milling machines, which are not available in the workshop. Give details
about the parts and function of each part. Ask the students to answer the following Questions.
(Sample figure with specifications of a milling machine is given here.)
